Aphrodite's Beast
The Altar of Need and Iron
The silence of the apartment had transformed. What had once been a cool, grounding sanctuary had become a stifling pressure cooker. The air was no longer just quiet; it was thick, saturated with a heavy, floral musk that seemed to bleed from Izaya’s very pores. It was the scent of crushed lilies and salt, a divine pheromone that had gone from a gentle hum to a screaming siren.
Izaya stirred in his sleep, but it wasn't a peaceful awakening. It was a violent transition from a fever dream into a physical reality that was infinitely worse. His skin felt like it was being flayed by silk. Every nerve ending was firing at once, sending jolts of white-hot lightning straight to his groin and the base of his spine.
He let out a low, broken whimper, his body arching off the leather sofa. The "blessing" of Aphrodite had reached its zenith. His blood wasn't just boiling anymore; it was demanding a sacrifice. The metabolic drain had shifted into a primal, biological hunger—a void in his lower belly that felt like a physical wound. He felt hollow, empty, and desperately, agonizingly open.
"Shizu... chan..."
The name was a rasp, a prayer whispered to a god he usually mocked.
Across the room, Shizuo bolted upright in his armchair. He hadn't truly been asleep; he had been hovering in a state of hyper-vigilance, his own Norse blood reacting to the shift in the atmosphere. The air in the room was now so dense with Izaya’s influence that Shizuo felt like he was breathing in liquid gold. It was cloying, intoxicating, and it made the primal, territorial beast inside him roar for release.
Shizuo stood up, his movements jerky. His sunglasses were long gone, and his eyes glowed with an amber intensity that looked barely human. He could see Izaya clearly in the moonlight filtering through the blinds. The informant was a mess—his black shirt was hiked up, exposing the pale, trembling skin of his stomach, and his face was flushed a deep, bruised crimson.
"Izaya?" Shizuo’s voice was a low growl, vibrating with the effort of self-control. "What’s happening? You’re... you’re leaking that smell again. It’s worse."
Izaya didn't respond with words. He couldn't. His mind was a fractured kaleidoscope of sensations. He rolled onto his stomach, his hips bucking instinctively against the cushions. The friction of the leather was not enough; it was an insult to the depth of the ache. He needed something hard, something unyielding, something that could match the violent intensity of the curse burning through him.
"It hurts," Izaya finally gasped, his fingers clawing at the sofa cushions. "Shizuo... please... I’m going to break. I can’t... I can’t breathe."
The use of Shizuo’s actual name, stripped of the mocking suffix, was the final snap in Shizuo’s resolve. He crossed the room in two heavy strides, the floorboards groaning under his weight. He reached down, intending to flip Izaya over to check his pulse, but the moment his hand brushed against the small of Izaya’s back, a spark of pure, unadulterated electricity jumped between them.
Izaya let out a high, thin wail, his head snapping back. The touch was like water in a desert, but it wasn't enough. It was a drop when he needed a deluge. He twisted, grabbing Shizuo’s wrist with a strength born of desperation, and pulled the larger man toward him.
"Fill it," Izaya hissed, his eyes blown wide and glassy, reflecting nothing but a terrifying, bottomless need. "The hole... the ache... Shizuo, ruin me. Break me so I don't have to feel this anymore."
Shizuo pinned Izaya’s wrists to the sofa, his massive frame looming over the smaller man. "Do you even know what you’re saying, flea? You’re out of your mind. It’s the blood talking."
"I don't care!" Izaya screamed, the sound muffled against Shizuo’s chest as he tried to burrow into the heat. "I don't care whose voice it is! It’s heavy—my body is so heavy, Shizuo. It’s begging for you. Can’t you feel it? You’re the only one... the only one strong enough to not die when I scream."
Shizuo’s breath hitched. He could feel it. The Aphrodite curse wasn't just affecting Izaya’s mind; it was reaching out to Shizuo’s own divine heritage, demanding a union of storm and beauty. The son of Thor and the son of Love—a collision of forces that the human world wasn't built to contain. Shizuo’s heart drummed a war-beat against his ribs. He wanted to destroy Izaya, yes, but the definition of 'destroy' was warping into something carnal, something ancient.
"You’re going to regret this," Shizuo warned, his voice dropping to a register that was more animal than man. "When the sun comes up and this fever breaks, you’re going to hate me even more."
Izaya let out a jagged, hysterical laugh, his legs wrapping around Shizuo’s waist, pulling him into the cradle of his thighs. "I already hate you, Shizuo. That’s why it has to be you. No one else... no one else could survive what I need right now."
Shizuo didn't wait for another word. He grabbed the hem of Izaya’s trousers and tore them away with a single, violent motion, the fabric shredding like paper in his hands. He didn't have the patience for buttons or zippers; his own blood was screaming for contact, for the grounding friction of skin on skin.
He flipped Izaya back onto his stomach, pressing him face-down into the sofa. The sight of Izaya’s pale back, trembling and slick with sweat, sent a wave of possessive fury through Shizuo. He leaned down, biting the sensitive skin at the nape of Izaya’s neck, marking him with the blunt force of a predator.
Izaya sobbed into the leather, his hips tilting up, offering himself with a shamelessness that would have been unthinkable hours ago. "Please... Shizuo... now. Do it now."
Shizuo freed himself, his own body aching with a pressure that felt like it could level a building. He didn't use prep; he didn't use care. The curse demanded a raw, primal exchange, and Shizuo was more than willing to provide it. He gripped Izaya’s hips, his fingers digging into the flesh, bruising the pale skin, and drove himself forward.
The impact was seismic. Izaya’s vision went white, his scream lost in the fabric of the sofa as Shizuo filled the aching void in one brutal, uncompromising surge. It was too much—it was a mountain crashing into the sea—and yet, it was exactly what the curse had been demanding. The agonizing emptiness was replaced by a stretching, burning fullness that made Izaya’s heart stutter.
Shizuo didn't stop. He couldn't. He began to move with the relentless rhythm of a landslide, each thrust shaking the heavy sofa, each impact echoing in the small apartment. He was a force of nature, a god of thunder claiming his due, and beneath him, Izaya was the altar.
"Is this what you wanted?" Shizuo growled, his voice vibrating through Izaya’s spine. "To be ruined? To be broken?"
Izaya couldn't answer. He could only gasp, his fingers clutching the edges of the sofa until his knuckles turned white. He was being undone. Every carefully constructed wall in his mind was crumbling under the weight of Shizuo’s strength. He felt his identity slipping away, replaced by the sheer, overwhelming reality of Shizuo’s body inside his own.
The Aphrodite aura flared one last time, a blinding pulse of pink and gold light that seemed to fill the room, and then it broke. It shattered like glass, the energy flowing out of Izaya and into Shizuo, grounding itself in the blond man’s indestructible frame.
As the curse drained, the pleasure turned sharp, poignant, and devastatingly human. Izaya reached back, his hand finding Shizuo’s hair, pulling him down.
"More," Izaya whispered, his voice cracking. "Don't stop. Don't let me go yet."
Shizuo let out a low, guttural sound and redoubled his efforts. He flipped Izaya over, wanting to see the light in those dark eyes as he conquered them. He pinned Izaya’s legs back against his shoulders, exposing him completely, and continued the assault. He was sweat-soaked and heaving, his muscles corded with the effort of holding back just enough strength not to actually shatter Izaya’s bones.
Izaya watched him through a haze of tears and lust. This was the Shizuo he knew—the monster, the brute—but there was something else there now. A terrifying intimacy. Shizuo was looking at him, not with the blind rage of their street fights, but with a focused, burning intensity that acknowledged Izaya’s existence more than anyone ever had.
"You’re mine," Shizuo muttered, the words more a fact than a boast. "In this city... in this life... you belong to the monster."
"Then eat me," Izaya challenged, a ghost of his usual smirk dancing on his trembling lips. "Devour me, Shizu-chan."
The end came like a physical explosion. Shizuo let out a roar, his body stiffening as he reached his limit, his grip on Izaya’s thighs so tight it would leave handprints for a week. Izaya followed him immediately, his entire body convulsing as he came without even being touched, his back arching so high his head hit the back of the sofa.
For several minutes, the only sound in the room was the harsh, ragged breathing of two men who had just survived a divine cataclysm.
Shizuo eventually collapsed forward, burying his face in the crook of Izaya’s neck. He was heavy—a crushing, comforting weight that Izaya didn't try to push away. The air had cleared; the cloying scent of lilies was gone, replaced by the honest, human smell of sweat and spent adrenaline.
"You still alive, flea?" Shizuo asked after a long silence, his voice muffled.
Izaya let out a long, shaky breath. His body felt like it had been put through a meat grinder, and the ache in his lower half was a dull, throbbing reminder of exactly how much Shizuo had taken. "I think... you might have actually succeeded in killing me this time, Shizu-chan. My legs are made of jelly."
Shizuo huffed, a sound that might have been a laugh if he weren't so exhausted. He pulled back slightly, looking down at Izaya. The informant looked wrecked—his hair a bird’s nest, his lips swollen, his skin covered in red marks and bruises. But the frantic, desperate light in his eyes had faded, replaced by a quiet, hollowed-out peace.
"The smell is gone," Shizuo noted, his amber eyes searching Izaya’s face. "You feel... normal. Well, as normal as you ever get."
"The circuit is closed," Izaya murmured, his eyes fluttering shut. "The energy had nowhere to go. It needed a conductor. You’re a very good conductor, Shizu-chan. Very... sturdy."
Shizuo sat up, pulling Izaya with him until the smaller man was slumped against his chest. It was an uncharacteristically tender gesture, but Shizuo felt a strange, lingering protective instinct. He had seen the void inside Izaya tonight, the terrifying vulnerability of a man who tried to be a god but was trapped in a body that was all too human.
"Don't get used to this," Shizuo grumbled, though he didn't let go. "Tomorrow, if you start your shit again, I’m throwing a vending machine at your head."
Izaya leaned into the warmth, his eyes closing. "Of course. It wouldn't be Ikebukuro otherwise. But for now..."
"For now, shut up and sleep," Shizuo finished for him.
As the first hints of dawn began to gray the horizon outside the apartment, the two rivals remained tangled together on the ruined sofa. The gods were silent now, their games concluded for the night, leaving behind two broken, divine things to find solace in the only way they knew how—through the violent, beautiful, and utterly human wreckage of each other.
