His Secret Love

The Weight of a Silent Heart

The rain was a constant, rhythmic drumming against the windowpanes of the Fushiguro estate, a sound that had become the metronome of Yuji’s life. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of sandalwood incense and the metallic tang of something clinical. The dim yellow glow of the bedside lamp cast long, distorted shadows across the room, making the familiar furniture look like crouching beasts.

Yuji lay on the bed, his head lolling to the side. His eyes were half-open, but the pupils were blown wide, fixed on a singular point on the wall where the wallpaper was peeling slightly. His limbs felt like they had been replaced with lead, a familiar, heavy warmth spreading from the base of his skull to his fingertips.

He could hear the soft turning of pages.

Megumi was sitting in the armchair by the window, a book resting in his lap. He looked peaceful, his sharp features softened by the low light. To anyone else, it would have looked like a scene of domestic bliss—a husband watching over his recovering partner.

But Yuji’s right wrist was cinched tightly to the dark wood of the headboard with a leather restraint, the lining padded with velvet to prevent chafing. Megumi was always so careful about the details. He didn't want Yuji to have scars; he only wanted him to have silence.

"You’re awake," Megumi said, not looking up from his book. His voice was a calm, melodic anchor in the sea of Yuji’s confusion. "Or close to it. The dose was a bit higher today. You were very agitated this morning, Yuji. You tried to break the window."

Yuji tried to speak, but his tongue felt like a dry piece of flannel in his mouth. He managed a low, guttural groan. The memory of the morning was a fractured mosaic—shards of glass, the cold bite of the wind, and then Megumi’s hands, strong and inescapable, pinning him to the floor while a needle pierced his skin.

Megumi set the book down and stood up. He walked to the bed with a grace that felt predatory, his shadows flickering at the edges of his feet like restless hounds. He sat on the edge of the mattress, the weight of his body causing Yuji to roll slightly toward him.

"I hate it when you fight me," Megumi whispered, reaching out to stroke Yuji’s damp hair. His fingers were cool, a stark contrast to the feverish heat of Yuji's skin. "It’s so unnecessary. Everything I do, I do to keep you whole. To keep you safe from the world that tried to break you."

Yuji’s eyes flickered, a spark of the old fire struggling to ignite behind the chemical fog. "Jun... pei..."

The name was a ragged breath, a plea.

Megumi’s hand stilled. His expression didn't change, but the air in the room grew noticeably colder. He leaned down, his face inches from Yuji’s, his dark eyes searching Yuji’s dilated pupils for a sign of submission.

"Junpei is gone, Yuji. I told you. He couldn't protect you. He was weak, and his weakness almost destroyed you. I’m the only one who stayed. I’m the only one who truly understands what you need."

Megumi’s hand slid down from Yuji’s hair, his thumb tracing the line of Yuji’s jaw before squeezing, forcing his mouth open. He picked up a small cup from the nightstand, filled with a translucent blue liquid.

"Time for your evening dose. Don't fight me this time. It only makes the bruising worse."

Yuji tried to clench his teeth, a desperate, instinctive resistance. He shook his head weakly, the movement making the room spin violently.

"No..."

"Yes," Megumi countered, his voice dropping to a low, commanding register. He pinched Yuji’s nose shut, forcing him to gasp for air. As Yuji opened his mouth to breathe, Megumi poured the liquid down his throat.

Yuji gagged, the bitter, chemical taste coating his throat. He tried to spit it out, but Megumi held his hand over Yuji’s mouth, his eyes fixed on Yuji’s with a terrifying, calm intensity.

"Swallow it, Yuji. Be a good boy."

Yuji’s throat convulsed. He swallowed, the liquid sliding down like molten lead. Megumi waited a few moments, ensuring the medication wouldn't be brought back up, before releasing him. He wiped a stray drop from Yuji’s chin with a silk handkerchief, his movements tender, almost reverent.

"There. Now we can have a quiet evening. Just the two of us."

As the drug began to take hold, the sharp edges of reality began to melt. The fear didn't vanish, but it became distant, like a fire burning on the far horizon. Yuji’s body went limp, his head falling back into the pillows. He felt Megumi unbuckle the leather restraint, freeing his wrist, only to immediately pull Yuji’s body against his own.

Megumi began to undress him with practiced, clinical efficiency. He handled Yuji’s limbs as if they were fragile porcelain, murmuring soft words of praise as he stripped away the sweat-soaked clothes.

"You’re so beautiful when you’re like this," Megumi whispered against the skin of Yuji’s shoulder. "No screaming. No accusations. Just you and me."

Yuji felt the bed shift as Megumi moved over him. He felt the weight of Megumi’s body, the heat of his skin, and the familiar, terrifying sensation of being used while his mind was locked in a dark room. He wanted to scream, to push him away, to demand his dignity back. But all he could do was stare at the ceiling, his breathing shallow and ragged as Megumi took what he wanted.

It was a violation wrapped in the language of devotion. Megumi moved with a slow, agonizing rhythm, his hands roaming over Yuji’s body as if he were memorizing a map. He whispered to Yuji the entire time—confessions of a love so distorted it had become a cage.

"I’ve loved you since high school, Yuji. Did you know that? Even when you were looking at him, I was looking at you. I waited. I watched. And when the world finally broke you, I was there to pick up the pieces. You’re mine now. No one else can have you. Not Gojo, not your friends... no one."

Yuji felt a sharp pain as Megumi bit into the sensitive skin of his neck, marking him. He couldn't even flinch. He was a passenger in his own body, a ghost haunting his own flesh.

"I had to do it, you know," Megumi murmured, his voice muffled against Yuji’s skin. "Junpei had to go. He was an obstacle. He was taking up the space in your heart that belonged to me. I did it for us, Yuji. So we could finally be together like this."

The revelation should have been a thunderclap, a moment of clarity that shattered the fog. But the drugs were too strong. The information drifted through Yuji’s mind like smoke, unable to find a place to settle. Megumi had killed Junpei. Megumi, the boy who had walked him home. Megumi, the man who was now holding him.

"I love you," Megumi whispered, his voice thick with a desperate, delusional sincerity. "Say it back, Yuji. Even if you don't mean it yet. Just say it."

Yuji’s lips moved, a pathetic, unconscious mimicry of the words Megumi wanted to hear. "Love... you..."

Megumi shuddered, pulling Yuji closer, burying his face in the crook of Yuji’s neck. "I knew you did. I knew you’d understand eventually."

Hours passed in a blur of forced intimacy and whispered lies. Eventually, Megumi grew quiet, his breathing evening out as he fell into a light sleep, his arms still wrapped tightly around Yuji’s waist.

The house was silent, save for the rain.

Deep within the haze, something shifted.

Yuji’s hand, resting limp on the mattress, twitched.

For the past week, he had been practicing a dangerous gamble. He had learned how to hold the pills under his tongue, how to tilt his head just right so the liquid stayed in the back of his throat until Megumi turned away. He had been slowly, agonizingly, reclaiming his consciousness, one stolen hour at a time.

Tonight, the dose had been higher, but his body was building a terrifying tolerance.

Yuji opened his eyes. The pupils were still large, but there was a focus in them that hadn't been there for weeks. He looked down at the dark hair of the man sleeping against his chest—the man who had murdered his husband, who had stolen his freedom, and who was currently raping his soul under the guise of protection.

The revulsion was a cold, sharp blade in his gut.

He looked at the door. It was locked from the outside by a complex series of shadows and seals, but Megumi’s keys were on the nightstand.

Yuji tried to move, but his muscles screamed in protest. The exhaustion was physical, a deep-seated ache that went down to his marrow. His body felt used, drained, and dirty. Every movement felt like pulling himself through thick mud.

He looked back at Megumi. The dark-haired sorcerer looked so peaceful, a slight smile on his lips. He truly believed he had succeeded. He believed that by drowning Yuji in chemicals and forced affection, he had created a version of Yuji that loved him.

Yuji’s fingers brushed against the nightstand. His movements were jerky, uncoordinated. He knocked over a glass of water, the sound of it shattering against the floor echoing like a gunshot in the silent room.

Megumi stirred.

Yuji froze, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird. He closed his eyes, forcing his breathing to slow, mimicking the heavy, rhythmic patterns of sedation.

He felt Megumi sit up, the mattress shifting. He felt Megumi’s hand on his forehead, checking for a fever.

"Yuji?" Megumi whispered, his voice laced with a sudden, sharp anxiety. "Are you alright?"

Yuji didn't move. He kept his body limp, his mind screaming for him to stay still.

Megumi sighed, a sound of profound relief. He leaned down and kissed Yuji’s eyelids, his lips lingering.

"I wish you could stay like this forever," Megumi murmured, his voice so soft it was almost a breath. "You’re so warm. You don’t hate me when you’re sleepy. You don’t look at me like I’m a monster."

He reached out and stroked Yuji’s cheek, his touch possessive.

"I’ll protect you from everyone, Yuji. Even from yourself. I’ll make you forget everything until there’s nothing left but me. We’ll be happy. I’ll make us happy."

Megumi got out of bed, his shadows stretching across the floor to pick up the broken glass. He moved with a terrifying, domestic normalcy, cleaning up the mess before returning to the armchair. He didn't go back to sleep. He sat there, in the dim light, watching Yuji with a gaze that was both worshipful and predatory.

Yuji lay in the dark, the weight of Megumi’s gaze feeling like a physical pressure on his skin.

He realized then that there would be no rescue. His friends—Gojo, Nobara, Choso—they were out there, searching, but Megumi was too smart, too careful. He had built this world specifically for the two of them, a sanctuary that was actually a tomb.

The architecture of Megumi’s mercy was complete.

Yuji felt a tear escape the corner of his eye, sliding down into his ear. He couldn't wipe it away. He couldn't move. He could only lie there, a prisoner in a bed of silk and shadows, listening to the rain and the steady, obsessive breathing of the man who loved him to death.

The part of him that wanted to fight, the part of him that had once been a hero, was still there, buried deep under the layers of trauma and drugs. It was screaming, clawing at the walls of its cage.

But as the night wore on and the shadows in the room grew longer, Yuji felt the fog beginning to roll back in, the sheer physical toll of the drugs and the abuse dragging him back down into the dark.

"Sleep, Yuji," Megumi’s voice drifted from across the room, a gentle command. "I’m right here. I’m never going anywhere."

Yuji’s eyes closed, the world fading into a familiar, suffocating gray.

In the silence of the house, the only sound was the rain, washing away the traces of a life that no longer belonged to the boy on the bed. And in the corner, the shadow of a man sat and watched, convinced that he had finally found the perfect way to love.
