House of Uchiha
The Weight of a Thousand Eyes
The morning air in the Uchiha Corp building felt like ice against Naruto’s skin, but the cold wasn't coming from the vents. It was coming from the silence.
Gaara was gone. The official word from the HR department was a "sudden relocation for a private security contract in Suna," but Naruto knew better. He had seen the glasses. He had felt the dried, metallic crust of blood on the frames before he’d shoved the velvet box into the back of his desk drawer, trembling so hard he’d nearly vomited.
He sat at his desk, his eyes darting to every corner of the ceiling. He was looking for the lenses. He knew they were there—tiny, black, unblinking eyes watching the way his chest hitched with every shallow breath.
A notification chimed on his computer. An internal memo.
*From: CEO Office* *Subject: Wellness Check*
*Naruto, you skipped breakfast again. I’ve had a meal sent to your desk. Eat. You’re looking thin.*
Naruto stared at the screen. He hadn't told Sasuke he’d skipped breakfast. He hadn't told anyone. He felt a bead of sweat roll down his spine. The door to his office opened, and a courier placed a tray of warm miso soup and toasted rice balls on his desk.
"Mr. Uchiha says to make sure you finish it all," the courier said with a polite, vacant smile.
Naruto didn't eat. He waited until the courier left, then reached into his bag and pulled out the latest envelope. This was Letter #9. It had been taped to the inside of his shower curtain this morning.
*Dear My Sun,*
*You looked so beautiful this morning, shivering in the spray. I noticed the bruise on your hip where you bumped into the coffee table last night. It made me angry that something so inanimate could mark you before I could. I want to be the only thing that leaves a mark on you. I want to see your skin turn red under my touch, a map of everywhere I’ve claimed.*
*You seemed lonely in that big bed. Don’t worry. You aren’t as alone as you think. I am always there, breathing when you breathe.*
*P.S. Throw away that blue sweater. It covers too much of your collarbones. I want to see them.*
Naruto crumpled the paper, his breath coming in jagged gasps. He couldn't go home. He couldn't stay here. But every time he tried to leave the building early, Sasuke was there—standing in the lobby, or appearing at the elevator doors, or calling his extension with a voice that was too calm, too steady.
"Naruto? Is everything alright?"
He jumped, knocking the miso soup over. Sakura was standing in the doorway, her face pale. She looked like she hadn't slept in days. Her eyes darted to the security camera in the corner of Naruto’s office before she stepped inside and shut the door.
"Naruto, listen to me," she whispered, leaning over his desk. "I found something. I bypassed the encryption on the server logs for the penthouse level. There’s a dedicated outgoing stream. It’s not just the office, Naruto. It’s your apartment. Every room. Even the bathroom."
Naruto felt the world tilt. "I know," he breathed. "I mean... I suspected. But Gaara... he said the IP was masked. He said—"
"Gaara is dead, Naruto," Sakura hissed, her voice cracking. "I saw a police report that was deleted within seconds of being uploaded. A 'John Doe' found in the harbor. It was him. And Iruka-sensei... he didn't retire. His pension was cashed out by a third-party proxy in Switzerland."
Naruto’s stomach did a violent flip. "Why? Why would someone do this to me? I don't have anything! I'm just—"
"Because you're his," Sakura said, her eyes wide with terror. "He doesn't want you to have anyone else. He’s clearing the board, Naruto. Everyone you love, everyone you trust... they’re obstacles."
"Who?" Naruto grabbed her wrists. "Sakura, tell me who!"
Sakura opened her mouth to speak, but the intercom on Naruto’s desk crackled to life.
"Ms. Haruno," Sasuke’s voice echoed through the small room, cold and sharp as a razor. "There is a discrepancy in the medical billing reports from your department. Please report to my office immediately. Naruto has work to finish."
Sakura froze. She looked at the intercom, then at Naruto. The color drained from her lips.
"Don't go," Naruto whispered. "Sakura, don't go up there."
"I have to," she breathed, her voice trembling. "If I don't... he’ll know I told you. Just... be careful, Naruto. Don't drink anything he gives you."
She turned and fled. Naruto sat in the silence, the smell of spilled miso soup filling the air. He felt like he was drowning in a glass tank, watching the people outside get picked off one by one.
That night, Naruto didn't go to a hotel. He was too scared. He went back to his apartment, locking all four deadbolts he’d recently installed. He checked the closets. He checked under the bed. He felt the weight of the hidden cameras, but he didn't know how to find them.
He sat on his bed, clutching a kitchen knife, until his eyes grew heavy. He’d been so tired lately. A bone-deep exhaustion that felt unnatural. He remembered taking a sip of the bottled water Sasuke had handed him as he left the office. *“You need to stay hydrated, Naruto. You’re under a lot of stress.”*
The darkness rushed in faster than usual.
When Naruto woke up, the sun was screaming through the windows. His head felt like it had been stuffed with cotton wool. His limbs were heavy, leaden, and there was a dull, throbbing ache between his thighs that made his breath hitch.
He tried to sit up, but the sheets felt sticky against his skin. He pushed the duvet back and let out a strangled, horrified sound.
He was naked. His inner thighs were smeared with something white and drying, and there were dark, purplish bite marks across his chest and shoulders. His wrists were red, as if they had been held down with immense force.
Then, he saw it.
Lying on the pillow next to his head was a Polaroid.
Naruto picked it up with trembling fingers. The image was clear. It was him, eyes closed, mouth parted in a drugged stupor, lying back against the headboard. Over him was a man. The man’s face was obscured by the angle, but his pale, muscular back was arched, his hands pinning Naruto’s wrists to the pillow.
Attached to the photo was a heavy, cream-colored note. Letter #10.
*Dear My Darling,*
*You were so quiet last night. So perfect. I spent hours just tasting you, memorizing the way you whimpered when I sank into you. You don't know how long I’ve waited to feel you wrap around me, even if I had to help you relax first.*
*I watched you sleep for three hours after I was finished. I touched myself while watching your chest rise and fall, thinking about how easy it would be to keep you like this forever. No one to talk to you. No one to touch you. Just us, in the dark.*
*You were so tight, Naruto. You cried in your sleep when I took you. It was the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard. I kept the condom, by the way. I want to have a piece of us to keep in the safe.*
*See you at the office, my love. I’ll be watching to see if you can walk straight.*
Naruto threw the photo across the room and scrambled to the bathroom, retching until his throat burned. He scrubbed his skin until it was raw, trying to wash away the feeling of invisible hands, but the ache inside him wouldn't leave. He felt hollowed out. Violated in a way that bypassed the physical and settled deep in his soul.
He dressed in a haze, pulling on the thickest clothes he owned despite the heat. He had to go to the office. He had to find Sakura. He had to get help.
The Uchiha Corp building felt different today. The glass seemed darker. The security guards didn't look at him; they looked *through* him.
He bypassed his own desk and went straight to the elevators. He hit the button for the penthouse. His heart was a frantic bird hitting the cage of his ribs. He didn't have a plan. He just knew he couldn't breathe until he confronted the monster who was doing this.
The elevator opened. The penthouse was silent.
"Sasuke!" Naruto shouted, his voice cracking. "Sasuke, where are you?"
There was no answer. Naruto walked through the sprawling, minimalist space. It was all black marble and cold steel. He reached the heavy oak door of Sasuke’s private study. It was ajar.
Naruto pushed it open.
The room was dark, save for the glow of a dozen monitors. Naruto stepped inside, his boots clicking on the floor. He stopped.
The walls.
They weren't covered in art or bookshelves. They were covered in *him*.
Thousands of photos. Naruto at the grocery store. Naruto sleeping. Naruto laughing with Iruka. Naruto crying in the breakroom. There were maps of his running routes, highlighted in red. There were transcripts of his phone calls.
In the center of the room was a large glass case. Inside sat the orange hoodie he’d lost months ago, a half-eaten lollipop he’d thrown in the trash, and a collection of hair ties.
Naruto’s breath hitched as he looked at the main monitor. It was a live feed.
It was his own bedroom. Empty now, the sheets still tossed from his frantic morning.
"Do you like it?"
Naruto whirled around. Sasuke was standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame. He wasn't wearing his suit jacket. His sleeves were rolled up, and on his inner forearm, Naruto could see fresh, angry scratches.
Naruto’s scratches. From last night.
"You," Naruto whispered, the word dying in his throat. "It was you the whole time."
Sasuke walked into the room, his expression terrifyingly serene. He didn't look guilty. He looked proud.
"I told you I’d take care of you, Naruto. I told you I was watching."
"You raped me!" Naruto screamed, lunging forward and grabbing Sasuke’s shirt. "You drugged me and you... you killed them! You killed Gaara! Where is Sakura? What did you do to Sakura?"
Sasuke didn't flinch. He reached up, his fingers stroking Naruto’s cheek with a tenderness that made Naruto want to scream.
"Sakura was becoming a distraction," Sasuke said softly. "She was trying to pull you away. I couldn't have that. She’s... resting. In a facility that specializes in 'emotional instability.' No one will believe anything she says."
"You're insane," Naruto sobbed, his hands shaking as he gripped Sasuke’s collar. "I'm going to the police. I'm going to tell everyone—"
"With what evidence?" Sasuke asked, his voice dropping to a low, soothing hum. "The cameras in your apartment? They belong to a shell company in the Caymans. The letters? Written on standard stationery with a printer that was destroyed an hour ago. The DNA? I’m the CEO of the company that handles the city’s forensic data, Naruto. You don't seem to understand."
He stepped closer, forcing Naruto back against the desk.
"I am the air you breathe. I am the walls that keep you warm. I have spent years building this world for you. Do you know how hard it was to stay away? To watch you date those... insignificant people? To watch you smile at everyone but me?"
Sasuke’s eyes darkened, a flash of raw, unrestrained lust breaking through the cold mask.
"Last night... it was only the beginning. I wanted to see if I could satisfy the hunger. But touching you while you were asleep? It wasn't enough. I want you to look at me while I do it. I want to hear you say my name while I break you."
"I hate you," Naruto spat, tears streaming down his face. "I’ll never love you. Never."
Sasuke leaned in, his lips brushing against Naruto’s ear.
"You don't have to love me, Naruto. You just have to belong to me. And you already do. Look at the monitors."
Naruto looked. The screens were changing. They showed his bank accounts being emptied. His social media accounts being deleted. A news report flashed on one screen—a fire at his apartment building.
"You have no home," Sasuke whispered. "No friends. No money. No history. You officially don't exist outside of this room."
He grabbed Naruto’s chin, forcing him to look up.
"You can fight me. You can scream. But eventually, you’ll get tired. And when you do, I’ll be here to catch you. Because I’m the only thing you have left."
Naruto sank to his knees, the weight of the obsession crushing the air out of his lungs. He looked at the walls—at the thousands of versions of himself trapped in gloss and ink.
He realized then that he wasn't a person anymore. He was a collection. A ritual.
Sasuke knelt down with him, pulling Naruto’s head against his chest. He held him with a strength that felt like iron bands, his heart beating a slow, triumphant rhythm against Naruto’s ear.
"Don't cry, Naruto," Sasuke murmured, kissing the top of his blonde head. "I’ve got you. You’re safe now."
Outside, the sun continued to shine over Tokyo, but inside the penthouse, the light had finally gone out. Naruto closed his eyes, the scent of Sasuke’s cold, expensive cologne filling his senses, and for the first time, he didn't try to pull away.
He was too tired to run from a shadow that had already swallowed him whole.
