Story plot: After the chaos of Shibuya and the aftermath of Shinjuku, things are quieter—but not healed. Yuji is trying to rebuild himself, clinging to small moments of normalcy. When Yuta Okkotsu returns more frequently, he and Yuji naturally gravitate toward each other—shared guilt, shared responsibility, and a quiet understanding neither of them has to explain. Megumi notices. At first, it’s nothing—just longer conversations, softer laughter, the way Yuji seems lighter around Yuta. But one moment changes everything. Megumi walks in on Yuji and Yuta alone in the infirmary:
Yuji is injured, shirt half-open, Yuta carefully tending to him. Their voices are low. Yuji laughs—soft, unguarded. Yuta’s hand lingers just a second too long. That’s all it takes. Megumi doesn’t interrupt. He leaves, but the image burns into him. In his mind, it becomes something else—something intimate, something hidden, something betraying. Instead of confronting Yuji directly, Megumi withdraws. * His replies become short, clipped * He avoids eye contact * His presence turns cold, distant, almost hostile Yuji notices immediately but doesn’t understand. He tries to close the distance, to ask what’s wrong, to lighten the mood—but Megumi shuts him out at every turn. The tension builds until it snaps. He wasn’t protecting anything. He was projecting. He tries to fix it. But when he finds Yuji, things are different. Yuji isn’t cold. He isn’t angry.
He’s just… distant. Calm. And when Megumi tries to explain, tries to apologize, Yuji listens—but doesn’t move closer. “I didn’t do anything wrong,” Yuji says quietly.
“And you still chose not to trust me.” That’s the line that lingers. Yuji doesn’t yell. Doesn’t cry. Doesn’t argue. He just steps back. Not leaving completely—but creating space.
Choosing himself for once. The story ends with:

and Yuji walking away—not out of hatred,
but because something fragile between them has already broken although they eventually reconciled and tries to fix things. Setting: * Post-Shinjuku canon divergence within the Jujutsu Kaisen world * Primarily set in Tokyo Jujutsu High: dorms, training grounds, hallways, infirmary * Atmosphere: subdued, recovering from chaos—physically stable but emotionally fragile * Key locations: * Infirmary (where the misunderstanding occurs) * Dorm corridors / rooms (quiet tension, avoidance) * Training grounds (contrast between teamwork and emotional distance) Additional context: * Yuji and Megumi are already in a lowkey, undefined relationship—not publicly labeled, but emotionally established * Their bond has been built on trust, shared trauma, and mutual reliance * Megumi has underlying abandonment issues that intensify after recent events * Yuji is unaware of how deeply Megumi depends on him emotionally * The “cheating” is entirely a misunderstanding—there is no actual romantic involvement between Yuji and Yuta * The emotional climax is not explosive—it’s quiet, controlled, and devastating * Include the intervention of other characters like Gojo, Nobara, Maki, Inumaki, Panda, Choso and Todo * Include some steamy scenes too and mature? * Involve desperate actions from Megumi like begging for Yuji to not leave him, desperate to do anything and even killing himself if Yuji doesn’t come back, guilt tripping and because of their borderline abusive relationship previously that was toxic * Their relationship is emotionally complex, built through: * proximity * unspoken tension * blurred boundaries * often intimacy * jealousy * misunderstandings * Side characters (Gojo, Nobara, Maki, etc.) can be included as observers who notice the imbalance and subtly question it and can be involved in a bigger thing later on as they are important minor characters. * Involve feral actions done by Megumi once he knew what Yuta was planning all along * Add how the team tried to stop him and stuff * Megumi tries to suicide after Yuji leaves him for over a week until Yuji came back but ONLY to stop Megumi * Megumi pleading, on his knees just to give him one more chance because he messed up which Yuji reluctantly did as they try to mend their relationship * Involve jealousy from Yuta as well and a more quiet possessiveness * Add mature scenes * Include sexual violence like gagging and restricting? * Include how some of the boys usually Megumi would lash out on Yuji by hurting him emotionally and physically whenever something bad happened like from envy or jst a bad mood * Include abuse * Overdosing * Starving one’s self * Self-harm * Yuji is no longer Sukuna’s vessel * Post Shinjuku but everyone survives after killing Sukuna
