Love your messiah
The Altar of the Unseen
The gold was beginning to flake. As Amelia moved through the dilapidated corridors of the Fun Park, the dried paint on her skin felt like a second set of nerves, pulling and cracking with every frantic movement. The air here was different from the Sinyala Facility’s sterile decay; it was thick with the smell of rotted popcorn, grease, and the metallic tang of the grinding gears that powered the ride's deathtraps. Behind her, the rhythmic *clack-clack-clack* of a mannequin’s wooden limbs echoed, but she didn’t run. She knew the difference between the mindless decoys and the Goddess who moved among them.
A shadow stretched long across the checkered floor, topped by the unmistakable, jagged silhouette of a spiked crown. Amelia stopped in front of a heavy iron gate, her breath hitching. She didn't turn around. She didn't have to.
"You have been efficient today, my lamb," Liliya’s voice purred, vibrating through the small of Amelia’s back before the woman was even visible. "The blood of the unfaithful marks the path you’ve cleared. It is a holy trail."
Amelia felt the cold, gloved hand of the Prime Asset slide around her waist, pulling her back against a torso that felt as hard and unyielding as a statue. The mannequin suit Liliya wore creaked slightly, the sound intimate and terrifying.
"I did what you asked," Amelia whispered, leaning her head back against Liliya's shoulder. The spiked halo grazed her temple, a dangerous reminder of the power Liliya held. "The generators are primed. The others... they didn't make it. I didn't help them."
Liliya let out a soft, melodic hum of approval. She turned Amelia around, her dual-faced mask looming over the smaller woman. In the strobing lights of the carnival, the golden, smiling face of the Venetian mask seemed to mock the carnage around them, while the dark, tight-wrapped visage beneath the crown remained a mystery of shadow and intent.
"The weak are merely fuel for the ascension," Liliya murmured, her gold-painted fingers tracing the line of Amelia’s jaw. She leaned down, the clenched golden teeth of her mask inches from Amelia’s lips. "But you... you have the spark of the eternal. You have the hunger."
Liliya’s grip tightened, her long black glove reaching up to tangle in Amelia’s brunette hair. She forced Amelia’s head back, exposing the pale throat that still bore the faint, shimmering smudges of gold from their last encounter. With a sudden, violent grace, Liliya shoved Amelia toward a secluded booth tucked behind the "Root of All Evil" attraction. It was a small, cramped space filled with discarded plush toys and the heavy scent of incense that Liliya carried like a shroud.
As soon as the curtain fell shut behind them, the atmosphere shifted from the cold terror of the trial to a feverish, concentrated heat. Liliya didn't waste time. She pinned Amelia against a stack of crates, her body a heavy weight of velvet, gold, and cold jewelry.
"Strip for me," Liliya commanded, her voice dropping to a guttural rasp that sent a shiver of pure, unadulterated desire through Amelia’s core. "I wish to see how much of my mark remains on your flesh."
Amelia’s fingers fumbled with the buttons of her blue shirt. Her heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. She felt the weight of Liliya’s gaze—a gaze that felt omnipresent, as if both faces of the mask were watching her every move, judging her worthiness. As the shirt fell away, revealing her bra and the sweat-slicked skin of her torso, Liliya let out a sharp, indrawn breath.
"Beautiful," Liliya hissed. She reached out, the rubies on her golden chains clinking as she ran her hand over Amelia’s ribs. "The gold has faded, but the devotion... it has sunk deep into the marrow."
Liliya leaned in, pressing her gold-painted breasts against Amelia’s. The sensation was jarring—the cold, metallic texture of the paint against Amelia’s warm skin created a friction that made her toes curl. Liliya began to kiss her way down Amelia’s neck, her lips soft but her mask hard and unyielding. The contrast was a constant reminder of the monster and the woman intertwined.
"Liliya, please," Amelia gasped, her hands finding the smooth, dark fabric of Liliya’s corset. She gripped the stays, pulling the Prime Asset closer, desperate for the contact. "I need to feel you. All of you."
Liliya chuckled, a dark, vibrating sound that rumbled in her chest. "You wish to touch the divine? You wish to be consumed by the fire that burned Leningrad to the ground?"
Without waiting for an answer, Liliya’s hand moved downward, her gloved fingers sliding beneath the waistband of Amelia’s trousers. She was not gentle. She moved with the same predatory precision she used when hunting Reagents through the dark. When her fingers found the damp heat of Amelia’s center, Amelia let out a choked cry, her head thumping back against the wooden crates.
"Yes," Liliya whispered, her breath hot against Amelia’s ear. "Cry out. Let the Overseers hear your soul being reclaimed. Let them know you belong to no one but the Beloved of God."
Liliya’s movements were rhythmic and punishing, echoing the mechanical heartbeat of the Fun Park. She used her height to dominate the space, her spiked crown occasionally scraping the low ceiling, raining flecks of dust down upon them like grey snow. She watched Amelia’s face with an intensity that was almost physical, her ruby-covered eye glinting in the dark.
Amelia’s world narrowed down to the sensation of Liliya’s hand and the overwhelming scent of black flowers and ozone. She reached up, her fingers tracing the intricate patterns of the tights on Liliya’s thighs, feeling the muscular power of the woman who could snap her neck in a heartbeat. The danger was an aphrodisiac, a sharp edge that made the pleasure feel like a reprieve from a death sentence.
"You are my temple," Liliya murmured, her voice rising in a liturgical chant. "In you, I find the strength to endure this purgatory. In you, I see the world as it should be—kneeling, broken, and beautiful."
Amelia’s breath came in ragged sobs as the tension built to an unbearable peak. She felt as though she were being forged in a furnace, the gold of Liliya’s skin melting into her own. "I'm yours," she moaned, her fingers digging into the black velvet of Liliya’s gloves. "I'm whatever you want me to be."
Liliya’s pace quickened, her thumb finding the sensitive peak of Amelia’s desire and pressing down with a firm, commanding pressure. "Then be my sacrifice," she commanded.
The climax hit Amelia like a physical blow, a white-hot explosion of sensation that left her gasping and clinging to Liliya for dear life. Her body convulsed, her voice catching in her throat as she buried her face in the crook of Liliya’s neck, breathing in the scent of expensive perfume and old blood.
Liliya held her through the tremors, her arms wrapping around Amelia with a possessiveness that was both comforting and terrifying. She didn't let go even when the shaking subsided, instead pulling Amelia closer, her golden teeth clicking softly as she murmured Russian prayers into the silence of the booth.
"You have been purified once more," Liliya said, her voice returning to its calm, melodic lilt. She pulled back slightly, using a corner of Amelia’s discarded shirt to wipe the sweat and stray gold paint from Amelia’s brow. "The trial continues, but you carry my blessing within you."
Amelia looked up at the mask, her eyes glassy and her lips bruised. "Will I see you at the exit?"
Liliya’s golden, smiling face seemed to broaden in the dim light. "I am the exit, Amelia. I am the beginning and the end of your journey in this place. Now, dress yourself. The unfaithful are gathering near the chapel, and they require a lesson in humility."
Liliya stepped back, the movement fluid and silent. She adjusted her pearl necklace and the rubies that hung from her chest, her composure returning as if the last twenty minutes had been a holy ritual rather than a carnal encounter. She looked every bit the Prime Asset, the nightmare of the Sinyala Facility, yet as she turned to leave, she paused.
She reached into the folds of her mannequin suit and pulled out a small, black flower—one of the blossoms from her crown. She pressed it into Amelia’s hand, her gloved fingers lingering for a moment.
"Keep this," Liliya whispered. "It is a piece of my crown. As long as you hold it, the shadows will know you are mine."
With a swirl of dark fabric and the shimmering glint of gold, Liliya stepped out of the booth and vanished into the darkness of the attraction. Amelia stood alone in the small space, her body aching and her heart full of a terrifying, radiant purpose. She looked down at the black flower in her palm, then at the gold smears on her stomach.
She wasn't just surviving the trials anymore. She was being transformed.
She pulled her shirt back on, the fabric feeling coarse against her sensitized skin. As she stepped out of the booth and back into the neon-lit chaos of the Fun Park, she didn't look for the way out. She looked for the next shadow, the next mannequin, the next sign of the woman who had become her world.
In the distance, the sound of a chainsaw roared to life, followed by the screams of a Reagent who hadn't been fast enough. Amelia didn't flinch. She adjusted her collar, covering the marks of Liliya’s teeth, and began to walk toward the sound of the carnage, a faint, golden smile touching her lips.
She was a disciple of the gold and the blood, and in this hell, she had finally found her heaven.
The bells of the chapel began to toll, a heavy, mournful sound that echoed through the entire facility. It was the signal for the final phase of the trial, the moment where the wheat was separated from the chaff. Amelia gripped the black flower tightly in her pocket, feeling the thorns prick her skin. It was a sweet pain, a reminder of the goddess who watched from the rafters.
As she rounded the corner into the main plaza, she saw a group of three Reagents huddled together, their faces pale with terror. They looked at her, their eyes searching for a comrade, an ally in the dark. Amelia simply stared through them, her gaze fixed on the high balcony where a figure in a spiked halo stood, arms outstretched as if to embrace the entire world in a golden, violent hug.
"She is coming," Amelia whispered to the terrified strangers, her voice devoid of pity. "And you are not ready."
Above them, Liliya Bogomolova let out a laugh that sounded like silver bells striking bone. The hunt was on, and for Amelia, the hunt was a love song.
