The Sovereign and His Muse
The blue light of a smartphone screen was the only thing illuminating the bedroom in the early hours of the morning. Michael Kaiser flicked his thumb across the glass, a sharp, arrogant smirk carving into his features. The viral photo from the night of the match—the one of his hand possessively gripping Angel’s backside—hadn’t just stayed on sports blogs. It had transcended into the stratosphere of pop culture.
"Michael, put the phone away," Angel murmured, her voice thick with sleep as she shifted against the silk sheets. Her black hair was a chaotic, beautiful mess against the white pillows, and the remnants of the previous night’s intensity were still visible in the faint, dark circles under her eyes.
"The world is obsessed with us, Liebling," Kaiser said, his voice a low, melodic purr. He turned the screen toward her. "They’re calling us the 'Blue Lock Royalty.' Even the egoists back at the facility are texting me about it. Isagi looks like he wants to vomit, which makes it even more delicious."
Angel squinted at the screen, seeing her own face mirrored back in a thousand different edits and fan-made collages. "I thought you hated sharing the spotlight."
Kaiser leaned over, pinning her against the mattress with his weight, his eyes gleaming with a predatory light. "I’m not sharing it. You’re an extension of me. You’re the jewel in my crown, and every king needs a queen to make the peasants weep with envy."
The "peasants" weren’t the only ones watching. By the time they reached the Bastard München training facility the next afternoon, the PR department was already in a frenzy. The engagement numbers were astronomical. The club’s merchandise sales had spiked, particularly among a demographic that usually didn't care about football but was suddenly very interested in the "Emperor’s" personal life.
"It’s a goldmine, Michael," the lead PR strategist said, pacing the length of the glass-walled office. "Vogue wants a cover. Not just a sports feature, but a high-fashion, conceptual spread. 'The Sovereign and His Muse.' They want the both of you."
Kaiser sat back in his chair, his long legs crossed at the ankles. He looked bored, but the way his fingers drummed against his knee betrayed his interest. "And what’s in it for her? I don't let my girl work for free."
"A global platform. High-end brand deals. And, of course, a fee that matches your own," the strategist replied quickly. "But the theme is... specific. They want to lean into the 'Emperor' persona. They want skin. They want the public to feel the tension."
Angel, sitting beside Kaiser in a simple black sundress that still turned every head in the building, felt a thrill of excitement. She loved the camera, and more importantly, she loved the way Michael looked at her when the world was watching.
"I’ll do it," she said, her voice clear and confident.
Kaiser turned his head, his gaze sweeping over her. A slow, dangerous smile spread across his lips. "Well then. If my queen wants to play, who am I to deny her?"
The day of the shoot arrived with the kind of chaotic energy only high fashion can produce. The studio was a cavernous space in the heart of Berlin, filled with racks of designer clothes, hovering stylists, and the scent of expensive espresso.
Angel was whisked away to hair and makeup, where her long black hair was straightened until it shone like obsidian. The makeup artist emphasized her doll-like features, giving her a look that was both innocent and devastatingly sharp.
"The dress is... thin," the stylist whispered, holding up a garment that looked more like a whisper of fabric than a piece of clothing.
It was a princess-style dress, but twisted into something provocative. The white silk was almost translucent, cut dangerously short to show off Angel’s endless legs, and so tight it hugged every curve of her petite frame like a second skin. To finish the look, they placed a delicate, diamond-encrusted crown atop her head.
When she stepped out of the dressing room, the entire studio went silent. She looked like a fairy tale caught in a fever dream.
"Where is he?" Angel asked, her boots clicking against the concrete floor.
"Right here," a voice rumbled from the shadows.
Kaiser emerged from the other side of the set. He was shirtless, wearing only a pair of tailored black trousers that hung low on his hips, revealing the sharp lines of his V-taper. His blue rose tattoo crawled up his neck, vivid against his pale skin. His hair was slicked back, making his sharp, handsome features look even more lethal.
He stopped in front of her, his eyes darkening as they raked over the sheer fabric of her dress. He could see the faint outline of her body beneath the silk, the way her nipples peaked against the cold air of the studio.
"You look like you’re waiting to be ruined," he murmured, loud enough only for her to hear.
"Is that part of the concept, Michael?" she teased, reaching up to straighten his non-existent collar.
"It’s the only concept I care about," he replied, his hand snaking around her waist to pull her flush against his bare chest.
The photographer, a high-strung man with a French accent, clapped his hands. "Beautiful! The contrast! The heat! Positions, please!"
The shoot was an exercise in controlled voyeurism. The photographer pushed them for more intimacy, more "raw ego."
"Michael, I want you behind her," the photographer commanded. "Possessive. Like you’re claiming a territory. Angel, look into the lens like you’re the one who owns the man who owns the world."
Kaiser moved behind her, his large, warm hands sliding over her hips. The thin silk of the dress offered no protection; she could feel every callous on his palms, the heat of his skin radiating through the fabric. He leaned down, burying his face in the crook of her neck, his teeth grazing her skin just enough to leave a mark that the editors would later have to decide whether to keep.
"You’re shaking, Liebling," he whispered, his breath hot against her ear.
"It’s cold in here," she lied, her breath hitching as his hands moved higher, brushing the underside of her breasts.
"Liars get punished," he reminded her, his grip tightening.
The camera clicked incessantly, capturing the electric friction between them. In one shot, Kaiser stood with his foot propped up on a velvet throne, Angel draped across his lap like a trophy, her crown tilted slightly askew. In another, they were on the floor, Kaiser’s shirtless torso hovering over her, his hand tangled in her hair while she looked up at him with a mixture of defiance and devotion.
The final shot was the one that would break the internet.
Kaiser was seated on the floor, his back against the wall, legs spread. Angel was positioned between them, her back to his chest. He had one arm wrapped around her throat—loose enough to be a caress, firm enough to be a leash—while his other hand rested blatantly on her thigh, pulling the hem of the short white dress even higher. She leaned her head back against his shoulder, her eyes half-closed, the diamond crown catching the strobe light.
"That’s it! That is the cover!" the photographer screamed, nearly dropping his camera.
The moment the lights dimmed, the professional facade crumbled. Kaiser didn't let go of her. He stood up, pulling Angel with him, his eyes locked on hers with an intensity that made the rest of the room disappear.
"We’re leaving," Kaiser announced to the room, not waiting for a response.
He grabbed his shirt from a chair but didn't put it on, draping it over his shoulder as he led Angel toward the exit by the small of her back. The stylists tried to flutter around them to reclaim the jewelry, but one look from Kaiser sent them scurrying away.
"I’ll send the crown back tomorrow," he snapped.
They didn't even make it to the car before the first "leaked" behind-the-scenes photos hit social media. By the time they reached the penthouse, the Vogue cover teaser had already garnered three million likes.
*@SoccerStyle: Kaiser and Angel for Vogue is the most illegal thing I’ve ever seen. Look at his hand!*
*@KaiserSzn: He really is the Emperor. And she’s the only one who can stand next to him without being eclipsed.*
*@BlueLockLeaks: The chemistry is literally burning my screen. Isagi could never.*
Inside the penthouse, the atmosphere was thick with the residue of the shoot. The "concept" of the day had bled into reality. Kaiser slammed the door shut and immediately spun Angel around, his hands finding the delicate fabric of the white dress.
"That dress," he hissed, his voice dropping into that dangerous, gravelly register. "I’ve been wanting to rip it off you since the moment you stepped into the light."
"It’s a designer piece, Michael," Angel gasped, though she was already reaching for the button of his trousers. "It’s worth thousands."
"I’ll buy the whole collection just to burn it," he growled.
He didn't rip it, though. Instead, he used the tight fit to his advantage, gathering the fabric in his fists and bunching it up until it was around her waist, leaving her exposed. He pushed her down onto the sleek, marble kitchen island, the cold stone a sharp contrast to the heat of his skin.
He looked down at her, the crown still perched precariously in her black hair. The sight of her—dressed as a queen, yet pinned beneath him like a commoner—sent a surge of dominance through him that no goal on the pitch could ever replicate.
"Do you like it?" he asked, his voice low and mocking. "Knowing that every man who buys that magazine is going to see you like this and know they can never have a single second of your time?"
Angel reached up, her fingers tracing the rose on his neck before sliding into his hair. She pulled him down until their lips were inches apart. "I like that you’re the only one who knows what’s under the dress, Michael. I like that you’re the only one who gets to hear me when I lose my mind."
Kaiser’s eyes flared. He didn't need any more words. He moved with a brutal, efficient grace, reclaiming every inch of her that the cameras had dared to capture. He was the Emperor, and she was his crown jewel, but in the privacy of their home, the titles didn't matter. Only the hunger did.
As the city lights twinkled outside, oblivious to the storm inside the penthouse, Michael Kaiser made sure his queen knew exactly who she belonged to. He pushed her to the brink, his name a constant, breathless prayer on her lips, until they both collapsed into the wreckage of their own desire.
Later, as they lay tangled together in the dark, the crown discarded on the floor like a forgotten toy, Kaiser reached for his phone one last time. He scrolled through the comments, the praise, the envy.
"They love us," he whispered, kissing the top of her head.
"They love the idea of us," Angel corrected him sleepily, curling into his side.
Kaiser smiled, a genuine, rare expression that he saved only for her. "The idea is for them. The reality is for me."
He set the phone face down. The world could have the pictures. He had the girl. And as far as Michael Kaiser was concerned, that was the ultimate victory.
