Morning After

Parliamentary Procedure and Other Ways to Lose Your Mind

The student council had survived the annual university open house without a single catastrophic budget disaster or logistical collapse, which, by all metrics, warranted celebration. By midnight, the boisterous gathering hosted at Net’s off-campus apartment had dwindled down from an unruly mob of tired committee heads to a quiet, golden-hued living room smelling faintly of citrus soju and takeout fried chicken.

Keng and Namping had been the last of the group to stumble out, draped over each other with sleepy laughter, leaving Net Siraphop and JJ Radchapon alone on the carpeted floor.

To the rest of the university, they were an immaculate administrative pairing. JJ, with his bright, sunny charisma and disarming laughter, could charm the strictest faculty dean into signing off on funding; Net, with his effortless theatre-major grace, sharp eyes, and quiet competence, kept the entire machinery running smoothly behind him. They were both intensely protective of their personal boundaries, wearing affable masks so well that no one—not even their closest friends—suspected the quiet, suffocating ache humming between them.

For eight months, Net had disguised his devotion as duty: fixing the collar of JJ’s council jacket before press conferences, learning JJ’s exact iced coffee order, staying behind late to walk him to his dorm under the pretense of "reviewing agenda notes." And JJ, in return, lingered around Net with soft, teasing warmth, bringing him throat lozenges during play rehearsals and finding reasons to lean his chin on Net’s broad shoulder whenever they shared a desk. Both had assumed the other was merely being extraordinarily kind.

Now, sitting knee-to-knee against the low sofa, they were five bottles of peach soju past good judgment.

"You worked too hard this week, Mr. President," Net murmured, his deep voice carrying a husky, velvety edge. He reached out, his long fingers carefully brushing a stray lock of dark hair away from JJ’s flushed forehead. His thumb lingered against JJ's warm cheekbone.

JJ didn't pull away. Instead, he leaned slightly into the touch, his dark eyes glassy with alcohol and something far heavier. "Couldn't have done it without my vice president," JJ whispered, his lips parting in a lazy, breathless smile. "You always clean up after me, Net."

"I like taking care of you."

The room went entirely still. The air grew thick, charged with the electric hum of unsaid things. JJ swallowed, his throat bobbing, gaze dropping to Net’s mouth.

"Net..." JJ whispered, half a question, half a plea.

Net didn't wait. He leaned in, closing the inch between them, capturing JJ’s mouth in a kiss that shattered months of carefully cultivated restraint. JJ let out a soft, startled gasp against his lips, but instantly melted, his hands clutching Net’s soft cotton t-shirt, pulling him closer until they collapsed together against the rug.

The kiss deepened, messy and urgent, slick with the taste of sweet alcohol and raw desire. Net groaned low in his chest, his hands sliding beneath JJ’s oversized sweater, palms tracing the smooth, burning heat of JJ’s ribs. JJ shivered, arching instinctively into the touch, letting his legs fall open as Net pressed his heavy frame over him.

"Bedroom," Net murmured against his jaw, his breath ragged.

"Don't care," JJ breathed back, entirely undone, his fingers tangling into Net's dark hair. "Just... please."

Net stood, pulling JJ up with him and practically carrying him the few stumbling steps toward the bedroom. They tumbled onto the unmade mattress, clothes discarded in a frantic blur of tangled fabric and feverish hands. When JJ's bare back hit the sheets, Net hovered above him, looking down with an intensity that made JJ’s breath hitch in his throat.

"You're gorgeous, JJ," Net rasped, leaning down to pepper hot, open-mouthed kisses along JJ’s collarbone, dipping lower to suck a bruising mark into the crook of his shoulder.

JJ whimpered, his head falling back into the pillow. "Net—ah, fuck..."

Net reached into his bedside drawer with a hand that trembled slightly, pulling out a bottle of lubricant. He knelt between JJ’s parted thighs, coating his long, elegant fingers in slick clear gel before pressing gently against JJ’s tight, heated entrance. JJ gasped, his hips bucking off the bed at the initial shock of cold, but Net quickly soothed him, kissing his temple, his nose, the corner of his trembling mouth.

"Relax for me, baby. Breathe," Net whispered, his theatrical voice dropping into that dark, hypnotic register that made JJ’s skin prickle with goosebumps.

Slowly, Net worked one finger inside, stretching him with deliberate, agonizing patience. JJ gripped Net’s broad shoulders, his nails digging into the smooth muscle as Net added a second finger, scissoring gently, curling to hit the sensitive bundle of nerves inside. JJ let out an unrestrained cry, his toes curling, his own hard erection weeping pre-cum against his stomach.

"Net, please, no more—I need you," JJ pleaded, completely stripped of his usual playful dignity.

Net couldn't hold back any longer. He slicked his own aching length, positioning his blunt head against JJ’s weeping rim. With a low, ragged groan, Net pushed forward, slowly sinking into the tight, burning heat of JJ’s body. JJ gasped, his eyes flying wide as he took the full thickness of Net, his hands sliding down to grip Net’s hips.

"You're so tight... feels so good, JJ," Net gritted out, holding still for a agonizing moment to let JJ adjust.

"Move," JJ choked out, wrapping his legs around Net’s waist, pulling him deeper. "Net, move."

Net began to thrust, deep and rhythmic, his hips snapping forward with a controlled, desperate power. The bed frame creaked in rhythm with their slick, wet friction. JJ threw his head back, crying out Net’s name into the quiet bedroom, utterly consumed by the sensation of Net filling him, stretching him, driving into him with intoxicating devotion. Every thrust drove JJ higher, the friction of their bodies sending shocks of blinding pleasure straight to his spine.

Net caught JJ’s jaw, leaning down to capture his cries in a bruising, possessive kiss as his pace quickened. His hand reached down between their sweating bellies, wrapping around JJ’s rigid cock, stroking him in perfect sync with every hard, unyielding thrust.

"Net—I’m—I’m close—!" JJ cried out, his voice cracking.

"Come with me," Net urged, his voice rough and breathless against JJ's ear. "Come for me, JJ."

With three more punishing, deep snaps of Net’s hips against his prostate, JJ shattered. He clamped down tight around Net with a fractured wail, spilling hot across Net’s knuckles and their tangled stomachs. The sheer intensity of JJ’s inner walls clenching around him shattered Net’s remaining control; with a guttural growl, Net buried himself to the hilt, spilling his release deep inside with a shuddering, breathless tremble that left them both gasping for air in the tangled sheets.

Net collapsed gently over JJ, kissing his sweaty forehead, whispering soft, incoherent praise against his cheek until both of them succumbed to the heavy, alcohol-fueled exhaustion of the night.

When JJ woke up, the morning sun was slicing mercilessly through the blinds, hitting him square in the eyes.

His head pounded. His body ached in places he had never felt before. And, most terrifyingly of all, Net’s heavy, bare arm was draped possessively over his waist, Net’s warm chest pressed flush against his back.

Memory hit JJ like a high-speed freight train.

*Oh, god.*

The soju. The carpet. The bed. The moaning. *Calling Net 'baby' and begging for more.*

Panic, icy and absolute, seized JJ’s chest. Net was the vice president. His rock. His most respected peer. JJ had crossed a catastrophic line while intoxicated, taking advantage of Net's kindness, ruining their dynamic forever. If Net woke up and regretted it—if Net looked at him with awkwardness or pity—JJ knew his heart would fracture in half.

Carefully, holding his breath, JJ slid out from beneath Net’s heavy arm. He gathered his crumpled clothes from the floor, winced at the dull ache between his thighs, and threw them on in a silent, adrenaline-fueled sprint. Within ninety seconds, JJ had slipped out the front door, letting the latch click shut behind him.

Thirty minutes later, Net’s eyes fluttered open. His hand reached across the mattress, expecting to find the warm, soft form of his council president.

The sheets were cold.

Net sat bolt upright, his heart dropping into his stomach. The apartment was dead silent. A half-folded note sat on the kitchen counter, scrawled in JJ's hurried handwriting: *Went to check on council paperwork. Thanks for hosting last night!*

Net stared at the note, his jaw tightening. "Thanks for hosting?" he muttered aloud, his theatrical voice lacing with pure disbelief. "Are you out of your mind, Radchapon?"

The chase began at 11:00 AM outside the student union building.

JJ was clutching an oversized iced Americano like a protective shield, walking briskly toward the administrative offices with his head down, when he heard a voice that made his blood run cold.

"President JJ!"

JJ stopped, peeking over his shoulder. Net was striding across the lawn, looking infuriatingly immaculate in a crisp white button-down, though his eyes burned with fierce determination.

JJ did the only logical thing: he turned on his heel and speed-walked in the opposite direction.

"JJ, stop!" Net called out, picking up his pace.

Near the central fountain, Kim and Latte—both sophomore council representatives—were sharing a bench and reviewing budget sheets. They watched with wide eyes as their usually composed president came jogging past, sweating, followed ten paces behind by their usually unflappable vice president.

"Uh, President?" Latte called out, waving a paper. "Do you have the signature for the audiovisual rental—?"

"Net has it!" JJ yelled over his shoulder, dodging around a group of freshmen.

"I do *not* have it!" Net bellowed, easily jogging past Latte and Kim without breaking stride. "JJ, I swear to god, talk to me!"

Latte slowly lowered the paper, turning to look at Kim. "Is... is the vice president hunting him?"

"I think he is," Kim replied, utterly fascinated. "Ten bucks says Net tackles him before noon."

JJ darted inside the library, praying the strict quiet rules would deter Net from making a scene. He slipped between the narrow aisles of the third-floor humanities section, panting softly, pressing his back against a shelf of 19th-century dramatic literature.

A shadow fell over the carpet.

JJ froze. Slowly, Net’s handsome face appeared around the corner of the shelf. He wasn't even out of breath.

"Chapter four of our council bylaws forbids fleeing from executive discussions," Net whispered smoothly, his voice dropping into that deep, dangerous cadence that made JJ's stomach perform backflips.

"Net, shh! This is a library!" JJ hissed, retreating sideways down the aisle.

"Then come outside and talk to me."

"I have nothing to say! Last night was—it was just the alcohol, okay? We were drunk! It’s fine, let’s just pretend it never happened and move on like professionals!"

Net’s expression darkened instantly. "Pretend it never happened?"

Before Net could close the distance, JJ bolted down the emergency stairwell, bursting out into the sunny quadrangle. But his luck ran out near the student council headquarters.

Lounging outside the glass doors were Keng, Namping, and Ohm, sipping boba tea.

"Hey, JJ!" Namping chirped brightly. "Did you see Net's text about the—whoa, why are you running?"

JJ tried to dive past them into the office to lock the door, but a firm, unyielding hand grabbed the collar of his jacket from behind, yanking him backward with theatrical precision.

"Got you," Net breathed, completely ignoring the trio of gaping friends.

"Net! Let go!" JJ squirmed, his face burning bright crimson. "People are looking!"

Ohm lowered his boba straw, his eyebrows practically reaching his hairline. "Are you two having a domestic dispute on university property?"

"Mind your business, Ohm," Net said politely, not breaking eye contact with JJ. With one smooth, effortless motion, Net dragged JJ by the wrist straight through the office doors, shoved him into the private archive room, stepped inside, and slammed the heavy wooden door shut, clicking the lock firmly in place.

Outside the door, Keng blinked. "Did... did Net just kidnap the president?"

"I told you," Namping said with a satisfied grin, sipping his tea. "They were gonna snap eventually."

Inside the dim, quiet archive room, surrounded by tall metal filing cabinets, Net backed JJ against the door, planting a hand on either side of JJ’s head, effectively trapping him.

"You ran away," Net said, his chest rising and falling, his voice remarkably steady despite the fire in his eyes.

JJ looked everywhere except Net’s face. "I had to. You shouldn't have to deal with the awkwardness. We're council partners, Net. I don't want you feeling guilty because we made a mistake while drunk."

"A mistake?" Net echoed, the word sounding like poison on his tongue. He leaned in closer, his breath fanning JJ’s cheek. "Look at me, JJ."

JJ bit his lip, stubbornly refusing, until Net gently took his chin between two fingers and tilted his face upward.

"Look at me and tell me that was a mistake," Net commanded softly.

JJ’s eyes welled with sudden, frustrating emotion. "It was a mistake for me to think you could actually feel that way about me!" he blurted out, his voice cracking. "I’ve been in love with you for six months, Net! Every single meeting, every single presentation! I thought if you woke up and realized what happened, you’d hate me. You’d resign, or you’d treat me like a stranger, and I couldn't bear that."

Net froze, his fingers loosening slightly on JJ's chin. His eyes widened in genuine, staggering shock. "You... you love me?"

"Yes, you idiot!" JJ choked out, burying his face in his hands. "So just let me leave and preserve whatever dignity I have left."

Instead of stepping back, Net let out a sudden, breathless laugh that sounded half-relieved and half-incredulous. He pulled JJ’s hands away from his face, gripping them tightly in his own.

"JJ, you brilliant, completely blind fool," Net murmured affectionately. "Why do you think I volunteered for every committee you were on? Why do you think I memorized your class schedule? Why do you think I stayed up until three in the morning helping you rewrite speeches you could have easily done yourself?"

JJ blinked, sniffing. "Because... because you're dedicated to your role?"

"I was dedicated to *you*," Net said firmly, stepping impossibly closer until their chests were touching. "I haven't looked at anyone else since the day you tripped over the microphone cord at orientation and sang the wrong national anthem verse with a straight face. I am completely, utterly in love with you, Radchapon. Last night was the only thing in my life I have never regretted."

JJ stared at him, the words washing over him, dissolving the suffocating knot of anxiety that had gripped his chest all morning. "You... you really mean that?"

"I will write it in the council minutes if you need official documentation," Net whispered, a tender smile breaking across his handsome face.

JJ let out a wet, breathless laugh, throwing his arms around Net’s neck. Net caught him instantly, lifting him slightly, burying his face in JJ’s neck and holding him so tight that JJ could feel the frantic, matching beat of Net’s heart against his own ribs.

"Don't ever run from me again," Net murmured against his skin.

"I won't," JJ promised softly, tilting his head to find Net’s lips.

The kiss this time was slow, sweet, and entirely sober. It tasted of lingering coffee, raw honesty, and immense relief. When they finally broke apart, resting their foreheads together, JJ smiled sheepishly.

"So... does this mean we're boyfriends now?"

"Only if you agree to let me walk you to your classes holding your hand," Net replied smoothly. "I have months of lost time to make up for."

JJ grinned, unlocking the door and pushing it open.

Waiting right outside in the main office, sitting casually on desks with snacks in hand, were Keng, Namping, Ohm, Kim, and Latte. All five of them turned in unison, looking at Net and JJ with knowing, entirely unsympathetic smirks.

"Well?" Ohm asked, raising an eyebrow at their tangled fingers. "Did the executive branch reach a bipartisan resolution?"

"It's about damn time," Keng snorted, tossing a bag of chips onto the table. "You two have been making heart-eyes over budget proposals since September. We were about to stage an intervention."

"Wait, you all knew?" JJ squeaked, his cheeks flushing brilliant pink.

"Literally everyone on campus knew, Mr. President," Latte sighed fondly, shaking his head. "Except the two of you."

Net only smiled, his signature composed charm returning in full force as he squeezed JJ’s hand tightly and pulled him out into the sunlight.
