A Casual Catastrophe on Day Three
**[DMD STAY HOUSE S3 — LIVESTREAM FEED: MAIN LIVING ROOM]** *Day 3, 08:24:11 PM* *Active Viewers: 384,102*
The ten residents were arranged in a loose, comfortable semi-circle on the plush living room rug. Between them sat a low teakwood coffee table scattered with porcelain mugs, open bowls of puffed rice crackers, and a deck of red-and-white question cards branded with the sponsor’s logo.
The game was ostensibly simple: "Truth or Target." Pick a card, answer the hypothetical question without filtering your thoughts, or drink a shot of bitter gourd juice.
Nat held the deck, his eyes sparkling with delight as he flipped over a card with gold foil lettering.
"Oh, this one is spicy," Nat announced, flashing the card toward the mounted camera near the television before turning back to the group. "Question twelve: *'If you were forced to choose one person in this room to be your life partner, who would objectively be the best match, and why?'*"
Groans and theatrical gagging noises rippled through the circle. Tommy immediately pointed across the circle at Max, while Tutor and Yim began mock-debating who was more financially responsible.
"Let’s be serious for once," Tommy chimed in, adjusting his hoodie. "If we’re talking real-life logistics—someone who actually takes care of you, cooks without setting off the smoke alarm, remembers schedules, and doesn't flake—it’s probably Net. He looks like a chaotic menace on variety shows, but off-cam he’s literally an older brother type. Super organized. Very domestic."
Zee nodded in thoughtful agreement from the armchair. "He has patience. More than people think."
Beside the sofa, JJ was sitting cross-legged on a floor cushion. He wore a loose slate-grey sweater, his laptop mercifully tucked away for the evening, holding a warm ceramic mug between both palms. He wasn't even looking at Net; his gaze was directed lazily at the snack bowl.
"Yeah," JJ said softly.
The syllable was small, off-handed, and delivered with the absolute, unthinking certainty of someone confirming that water was wet or that Kanchanaburi was hot in July.
"He is," JJ added casually, blowing across the rim of his tea. "He remembers everything you tell him, he doesn't let dishes sit in the sink overnight, and he always wakes up first to start the kettle. He's actually a very good partner."
JJ paused, took a sip of his tea, and looked across the circle at Nat.
"Next card," JJ said, ready to move forward. "Whose turn is it? Yim?"
The room did not move to the next card.
In fact, the living room descended into a bizarre, suspended stillness. Nat’s hand remained frozen over the deck. Tommy’s mouth stayed half-open. Across the circle, Tutor slowly turned his head to stare at JJ as if the screenwriter had suddenly begun speaking fluent Latin.
JJ Radchapon—the man whose entire public persona was defined by sharp-tongued sarcasm, lethal eyerolls, and an unshakeable refusal to feed Net Siraphop’s ego—had just praised Net’s romantic domesticity in broad daylight, on an uncensored livestream, with zero irony.
JJ seemed completely oblivious to the crater he had just stepped into. He set his cup down, about to reach for a rice cracker.
He never reached it.
Net, who had been lounging sideways against the armrest of the sofa just behind JJ’s shoulder, leaned forward. A slow, devastatingly dark smirk spread across his lips, his eyes gleaming with the dangerous thrill of someone who couldn't resist pressing a detonator.
"Of course I’m a good partner," Net said. His voice dropped into that low, melodic, velvet register that had won him half his romantic leads, leaning down until his lips hovered barely an inch from the crown of JJ’s head. "Especially to you, Radchapon. You complain every morning, but you never complain about the service, do you?"
The delivery was effortless. It wasn't variety-show loud; it was intimate, familiar, and so entirely dripping with mutual history that the word *Radchapon* didn't sound like a stern surname at all. It sounded like a pet name wrapped in velvet.
JJ froze.
A sharp, involuntary hitch caught in his throat. For half a second, his brain seemed to register the sheer absurdity of what Net had just uttered on a public broadcast.
JJ let out a startled, breathy laugh, the sudden flush of red spreading aggressively from his neck straight up to the tips of his ears. He whirled around, clutching a sofa cushion like a shield, his usual stoic composure shattering into utter panic.
"Huy, umayos ka nga d'yan!" JJ hissed, the flustered Taglish slipping out of him before his mind could filter his mother’s dialect into formal Thai. He swung the cushion, batting Net squarely across the chest. "Not here! Behave yourself, Siraphop, seriously!"
Net didn't even attempt to dodge. He simply let the cushion hit him, leaning back with his hands raised in mock-innocence, laughing with that warm, full-chested rumble that wrinkled the corners of his eyes.
"What?" Net asked, blinking with wide, totally unrepentant eyes. "I’m just playing! You're the one who complimented me first! Am I not allowed to confirm your good taste?"
"You're impossible," JJ muttered under his breath, desperately smoothing down his sweater, though the furious pink on his cheeks refused to fade. "Play the game properly or go to sleep."
"I am playing properly," Net murmured, still grinning like a cat that had swallowed an entire aviary.
Without missing a beat, Net reached across the low table, picked up JJ’s insulated tumbler, unscrewed the cap, and pushed it back into JJ’s hand without looking. JJ took it automatically, took a long swallow of cold water, and set it down—neither of them realizing that they had just performed the exact choreography of two people who had shared the same breakfast table for half a decade.
Across the rug, Tommy was staring at them.
His eyes darted from Net’s smug face to JJ’s still-burning ears, and then to Zee, who was watching the exchange with an expression of sudden, intense recalculation.
"Uh," Nat squeaked, his voice cracking slightly into the silence of the room. "Card... card thirteen?"

By 11:30 PM, the livestream had officially cut feed for the night. The red indicator lamps on the ceiling mounted cameras shifted to standby green, leaving the villa under ambient house lighting.
The tension in the kitchen was thick enough to carve with a bread knife.
JJ was standing by the refrigerator, filling a glass pitcher with cold water for the bedroom. His glasses were off, hanging from the collar of his sweater, his expression quiet and weary.
Tommy walked into the kitchen on the pretext of grabbing a protein bar. He lingered by the counter, watching JJ’s methodical movements.
"Hey, JJ," Tommy began, leaning against the marble island.
JJ glanced over, wiping a water droplet from the counter with a paper towel. "Yeah?"
"Earlier," Tommy said, keeping his voice carefully neutral. "During the card game."
JJ froze for a fraction of a second, his fingers tightening slightly on the glass handle. "What about it?"
"You said Net wakes up first to start the kettle," Tommy pointed out, his brow arching just a millimeter. "Net has lived in an apartment in Sukhumvit for three years. You live in Nonthaburi. How do you know who starts the kettle?"
JJ stared at Tommy.
For five years, JJ had operated under the completely unexamined assumption that they weren't actually hiding anything. They went to dinners together. Net drove his car. They had mutual friends. JJ had simply assumed that because they spent eighty percent of their public interactions bickering like stray cats in an alleyway, people had merely chosen to find that more entertaining than the truth.
Now, looking at Tommy’s intensely curious, almost suspicious gaze, the realization hit JJ like a cold splash of river water: *they really had no idea.*
Before JJ could craft a semi-plausible excuse about early morning call times or production basecamps, heavy footsteps padded softly into the kitchen.
Net walked in, wearing his oversized black sleep shorts and a faded grey hoodie that Tommy recognized—with a jolt of sudden clarity—as the exact hoodie JJ had worn during a script read-through eight months ago.
Net didn't even glance at Tommy.
He walked straight behind JJ, his chest brushing JJ’s back for half a second as he reached into the high cabinet above JJ's head, pulling down two ceramic mugs.
"Chamomile or mint?" Net asked, his voice low, sleep-roughed, and completely devoid of any camera persona.
"Chamomile," JJ replied softly, his voice dropping into that quiet, instinctive rhythm. "Don't boil the water all the way. It scalds the leaves."
"I know how to brew your tea, JJ," Net murmured. His hand dropped, brushing lightly against the curve of JJ’s waist as he turned toward the electric kettle. It was a fleeting, completely unconscious touch—a casual check of physical proximity that carried the weight of a thousand quiet evenings in an unseen kitchen.
Tommy stood entirely frozen by the refrigerator, holding his unopened protein bar like a blunt weapon.
His gaze dropped to Net’s waist, where Net’s hip naturally leaned against the counter, then back to JJ, who was unhurriedly screwing the lid onto the water pitcher, completely unbothered by Net’s proximity.
"You guys," Tommy whispered, his voice barely audible over the hum of the kettle.
JJ looked up, blinking. "What?"
Tommy pointed a trembling finger between them. "The hoodie."
Net paused, looking down at his sleeves. "What about it?"
"That’s JJ’s hoodie," Tommy said, his eyes widening to the size of saucers. "You wore that hoodie to the fitting last Tuesday. And JJ wore it in November."
"It's just cotton, Tommy," Net said smoothly, though the tiny, triumphant twitch at the corner of his lips betrayed him entirely. "We share clothes. We're the same size."
"You are not the same size!" Tommy hissed, stepping forward and lowering his voice to a frantic whisper. "Net, you have four inches of shoulder width on him! The sleeves are swallowing him whenever he wears it!"
JJ closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose with a quiet, exhausted sigh. "Tommy, please. It's late."
"How long?" Tommy demanded, his brain visibly short-circuiting as memories from the past five years rearranged themselves in real time. "The award show after-party in Macau. The trip to Japan where you both claimed you were staying at different hotels. The 'accidental' matching bracelets at the script reading. How long?!"
Net poured the hot water into the mugs, the steam rising between them in soft white ribbons. He picked up one mug, blowing gently across the surface, before looking Tommy dead in the eye.
"Five years," Net said, his tone as casual as if he were giving the current temperature outside.
Tommy’s jaw dropped so far it nearly hit the marble. "Five—"
"Keep your voice down," JJ cut in, his ears turning pink again, though he didn't deny it. He picked up his own mug, turning toward the kitchen entrance. "And don't you dare start an interrogation tonight. I have six scenes to edit before eight tomorrow."
"You're married," Tommy breathed in sheer disbelief, clutching his forehead. "In everything but legal paperwork, you two are literally married."
"He leaves his wet towels on the floor," JJ deadpanned as he walked past Tommy toward the stairs. "It’s hardly a fairy tale."
"I hang them on the radiator, you just don't like where the radiator is located," Net fired back instantly, following half a step behind JJ, his hand hovering habitually near the small of JJ’s back as they mounted the wooden steps.
Tommy stood alone in the dark kitchen for two whole minutes, listening to their hushed, rhythmic bickering fade up the staircase until a bedroom door clicked softly shut.

**[DMD STAY HOUSE S3 — LIVESTREAM FEED: BEDROOM A]** *Day 4, 06:58:12 AM* *Active Viewers: 450,119*
Two minutes before the morning feed was officially scheduled to reactivate, the master bedroom was submerged in pale grey dawn.
The red recording light on the ceiling corner clicked from green to red with a soft, barely audible *beep*.
On the right-hand king bed, the duvet was pulled high over two tangled figures.
JJ was sleeping on his stomach, face half-buried in the pillow, his glasses resting safely on the bedside table next to a glass of water that hadn't been there when he fell asleep.
Curled around his side, Net’s arm was thrown heavily over JJ’s waist, long fingers hooked loosely into JJ’s grey sweater. Net’s chin was tucked comfortably against JJ’s shoulder blade, his steady, deep breathing lifting the cotton fabric in slow, uninterrupted rhythm.
As the clock ticked to 07:00:00 AM, the bedroom speakers chimed with the automated wake-up tone.
JJ didn't lash out. He didn't reach for a cushion to smother anyone.
Instead, he merely let out a soft, sleepy murmur into the down pillow, his hand blindly sliding across the mattress until his fingers found Net’s wrist. JJ’s thumb rubbed a quiet, familiar circle against the bone, pulling Net’s arm a fraction tighter around his middle before he drifted back toward consciousness.
Net didn't open his eyes either. He just buried his face deeper into JJ’s shoulder, smiling against the cotton fabric in the dark.
