Static in the Spotlight
The after-party for the Seoul Music Awards was a sea of glittering sequins, expensive champagne, and forced smiles. For Stella, the lead dancer of the girl group Hearts 2 Hearts, it was a minefield. She adjusted her silk slip dress, the fabric clinging to her curves, and tried to ignore the burning sensation in the back of her neck. She knew that gaze. She had known it since their trainee days when they had competed for the same practice rooms and the same spotlight.
Martin, the center of the powerhouse boy group Cortis, was leaning against the marble bar across the room. He was the industry’s "Golden Boy," but to Stella, he was an arrogant, overbearing thorn in her side. Their rivalry was legendary among insiders—a cold war of snide comments in hallways and competitive chart-topping streaks.
"You’re staring, Stella," her groupmate whispered, nudging her. "If looks could kill, Cortis would be looking for a new leader."
"He’s breathing my air," Stella muttered, taking a sharp sip of her drink. "That’s reason enough."
She felt a surge of irritation when she saw a rookie idol from a junior group giggle and touch Martin’s arm. The way he smirked, leaning down to whisper something in the girl’s ear, made Stella’s blood boil. It wasn't just professional rivalry; it was a possessive, jagged jealousy she refused to name.
Twenty minutes later, Stella slipped away toward the VIP terrace, needing air. The balcony was shadowed, lit only by the distant glow of the city. She didn't realize she wasn't alone until the scent of expensive sandalwood and tobacco hit her.
"Running away so soon? The night is young, and you haven't even congratulated us on the Daesang yet," Martin’s voice drifted from the shadows.
Stella spun around, her eyes flashing. "I’d rather swallow glass, Martin. And don't act like you didn't see me. You’ve been tracking me like a predator all night."
Martin stepped into the light, his tuxedo jacket discarded, his white shirt unbuttoned at the collar. "Maybe I like the view. Or maybe I just like watching you get worked up every time I talk to another woman."
"In your dreams," she spat, stepping closer until she was inches from his chest. "You’re nothing but a distraction."
"Then why are you shaking?" He reached out, his thumb catching her bottom lip, pulling it down to reveal the pearly whites she used to bite her tongue. "You hate me so much, yet you can’t look away."
"I hate you because you think you own every room you walk into," she whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of rage and desire. "I hate that you think you own me."
Martin’s eyes darkened, the playful smirk vanishing. He grabbed her waist, pulling her flush against him. "I don't think I own you, Stella. I know I do."
He slammed his mouth against hers, a brutal, demanding kiss that tasted of whiskey and years of repressed tension. Stella groaned into his mouth, her hands flying to his hair, pulling him closer. This was the boiling point. The hatred and the lust had finally fused into something explosive.
He broke the kiss only to hoist her up. Stella wrapped her legs around his waist, her heels clicking against the stone railing. He carried her toward the private lounge connected to the terrace, kicking the door shut and locking it in one fluid motion.
He dropped her onto the leather sofa, hovering over her like a shadow. "You’ve been begging for this for three years," he growled, his hands moving to the hem of her dress.
"Shut up and prove it," she challenged, reaching for his belt.
Martin didn't hesitate. He stripped her with a frantic, rough energy, his eyes devouring the sight of her lace lingerie straining against her full breasts. When he freed her, the sight of her heavy cleavage made him growl. He bent down, taking a nipple into his mouth and sucking hard, his teeth grazing the sensitive peak.
"Martin, please," she gasped, arching her back, her fingers digging into his shoulders.
"Please what, baby? Say it," he commanded, his voice dropping into a deep, authoritative register. "Tell me who you belong to."
"You," she whimpered, the word tasting like defeat and ecstasy. "Daddy, please."
The title hit him like a physical blow. Martin’s control snapped. He stripped out of his trousers, his length thick and angry, pulsing with his heartbeat. He didn't use a condom; at this point, they were past the point of caution, lost in the heat of their mutual obsession.
He flipped her over, pressing her face into the cool leather of the sofa. Stella let out a sharp cry as he gripped her hips, his fingers bruising her skin.
"Look at me," he ordered.
She turned her head, catching his predatory gaze in the mirror across the room. Without a word of warning, he lunged forward, burying himself inside her in one deep, punishing thrust.
Stella screamed into the cushion, her body stretching to accommodate him. He was too big, too much, but it was exactly what she needed to fill the void their rivalry had carved out. He didn't give her time to adjust. He began to move, his pace frantic and heavy.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh echoed in the small room—the rhythmic, wet thud of back shots that made Stella’s vision blur. Each thrust was a statement of dominance. He was hitting her deep, bottoming out against her cervix with a ruthlessness that made her toes curl.
"You’re so tight for me," Martin groaned, his sweat dripping onto her back. "Even when you’re acting like a brat on stage, I know you’re thinking about this."
"I hate... how much I... want this," she sobbed out, her hands clutching the edges of the sofa as he ramped up the speed.
He reached around, his large hand finding her clit, rubbing it with a bruising pressure that sent sparks through her nerves. The combination of the friction and the deep, rhythmic pounding was too much. Stella felt the coil inside her tighten to the breaking point.
"That’s it, take it all," Martin whispered, his voice a dark caress in her ear. "Take every inch of me."
He pulled back almost entirely before slamming back in, the force of the impact vibrating through her chest. Stella’s climax hit her like a tidal wave, her internal muscles clenching around him in violent waves. She cried out his name, her body shaking uncontrollably.
Hearing her break sent Martin over the edge. He let out a low, guttural roar, his thrusts becoming short and desperate as he filled her, his own release hitting him with the force of a freight train. He collapsed onto her back, his breath coming in ragged gasps, his heart hammering against her spine.
For a long time, neither of them moved. The silence of the room was heavy with the scent of sex and the lingering electricity of their encounter.
Martin eventually pulled away, the loss of his warmth making Stella shiver. He reached for a silk throw on the chair and draped it over her shoulders, his touch surprisingly gentle.
"This doesn't change anything," Stella whispered, her voice hoarse, though she didn't move to get up.
Martin leaned down, kissing the back of her neck where his teeth had left a mark. "It changes everything, Stella. You can’t go back to pretending you don't crave me."
He stood up and began to dress, the polished idol returning as he straightened his shirt. He looked down at her one last time, a smirk playing on his lips—not the arrogant one from the bar, but something darker, more possessive.
"See you at the music show tomorrow, princess," he said, turning toward the door. "Try not to miss me too much."
Stella watched him leave, her body aching and her heart racing. She hated him. She truly did. But as she felt the lingering heat between her thighs, she knew she’d be back in his arms before the week was out. The war wasn't over; it had simply moved to a different battlefield.
