Steven poofs

One day the gems and Steven were on a mission Steven being his optimistic self watches as the gems fight off a huge corrupted gem. Steven wanted to help but remembers that he needed to stay back. He reluctantly sits back down and watches the battle sulking. It was at a notice that he sees the gems were struggling to hold back the corrupted gem. It suddenly broke free from their grips sending them to the ground. Steven immediately reacted and ran over towards them and summon his shield to protect them from the strike. It worked momentarily. As he got distracted as he asked if they were okay when suddenly the corrupted gem broke the shield and slashed at Stevens body. Completely shocking everyone including Steven who was in tears as he looked down at his body... It wasn't long before he disappeared in a cloud of white leaving only his gem.
