Weak hero

Chapter 1: This Wasn't Supposed to Happen The first thing she noticed was the sound. Not her alarm. Not the humming of her fan. Not the traffic outside her bedroom window. Voices. Dozens of voices. She frowned. Someone was laughing. Someone else was arguing. Chairs scraped against the floor. Papers rustled. She slowly opened her eyes. A white ceiling greeted her. For a moment, she simply stared at it. This wasn't her room. Her room had glow-in-the-dark stars stuck to the ceiling. There was a bookshelf beside her bed and a pile of clothes she kept promising herself she'd fold. Her headphones should've been lying somewhere near her pillow. None of that was here. Instead, fluorescent lights buzzed quietly overhead. She blinked. Then blinked again. "…What?" She sat up. Rows of desks. Students wearing uniforms. A blackboard. Sunlight pouring through large windows. A classroom. She stared. Then she looked down at herself. She was wearing a school uniform. A navy skirt. A white shirt. A cardigan. None of which belonged to her. She looked at her hands. The same hands. The same small scar near her thumb. But— "What…?" A girl sitting beside her glanced over. "You okay?" She ignored her. Her heart suddenly started beating faster. She grabbed the notebook on her desk. There was a name written on it. Not hers. She stared at it. Her breathing slowed. Then sped up. Then completely malfunctioned. "No." The word escaped her lips before she could stop it. "No, no, no." The girl beside her looked concerned. "Seriously, are you okay?" She didn't answer. Because something felt wrong. Terribly wrong. She looked around the classroom again. Then she froze. Near the window sat a boy. Pale skin. Dark hair. A calm, unreadable expression. His eyes were fixed on a book. Completely uninterested in everyone around him. She knew that face. No. No. Absolutely not. Her head slowly turned. Another boy sat a few seats away. Tall. Handsome. Looking half asleep. Then another. Nervous. Quiet. Avoiding eye contact. Her soul practically left her body. She knew those faces. She knew those expressions. She knew those characters. Because she had spent countless nights watching them. Reading theories about them. Crying over them. Rewatching edits of them. Her eyes widened. "…Weak Hero." Nobody heard her. She looked at the boy near the window again. Yeon Si-eun. Then at the sleepy one. Ahn Su-ho. Then— Oh. My. God. She slowly lowered herself into her chair. Her brain stopped working. She had transmigrated. Into Weak Hero. She closed her eyes. No. Impossible. She was dreaming. She had to be. Maybe she fell asleep while watching another edit. Maybe she had a fever. Maybe this was some weird hallucination. She opened one eye. The classroom was still there. She pinched herself. "Ow." Still there. She covered her face. She was in Weak Hero. Actually inside it. This had to be a joke. She was just an ordinary girl. Simple. Quiet. The kind of person who enjoyed her own company. She liked listening to music. Window shopping. Buying cute stationery she didn't need. Staying up late and daydreaming. She liked peaceful things. She liked being left alone. She liked existing quietly in her own little world. And now— She was in one of the most emotionally devastating dramas she had ever watched. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Her hands slowly slid down her face. Then she remembered something. Her expression changed. She knew this story. Every major event. Every friendship. Every betrayal. Every fight. Every tragedy. She knew what was going to happen. She knew who would get hurt. She knew who would suffer. Her heart tightened. She looked toward the boys again. They looked normal. Completely unaware of what the future had planned for them. A strange ache settled in her chest. She hated this. She hated knowing. Because no matter how many times she watched the series, she could never change anything. She could only watch. Watch them smile. Watch them become friends. Watch everything fall apart. She swallowed. No. She wouldn't think about that. This wasn't real. Probably. Hopefully. Maybe. She took a deep breath. Okay. Let's be logical. She was here. Somehow. There was nothing she could do about that. Panic later. Survive first. She made a decision. She would stay in the background. Absolutely no interfering. No changing the story. No getting attached. She would quietly exist until she figured out how to go home. Easy. Very easy. She nodded to herself. The classroom door opened. The teacher walked in. Everyone returned to their seats. The room became quiet. She stared blankly ahead. This couldn't be real. "Since everyone is here," the teacher said, "let's begin." She barely heard him. She was too busy having an existential crisis. A few minutes later— Tap. She blinked. Something rolled onto her desk. A pen. She looked at it. Then at the person beside her. The girl shook her head. Not her. She frowned. Who— Her eyes slowly lifted. And met another pair. Yeon Si-eun. She froze. He looked at her. She looked at him. Silence. He motioned toward the pen. Oh. It was hers. Apparently. She picked it up. "Thank you," she whispered. He said nothing. Just looked at her. She became uncomfortable. Why was he looking at her? Then he returned his attention to his book. She released a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. That was terrifying. She loved him as a character. But being perceived by Yeon Si-eun in real life? Terrifying. The class continued. She tried paying attention. She failed. Because every few minutes, she remembered she was inside Weak Hero and nearly had another crisis. The bell finally rang. The classroom erupted into noise. Students stood. Chairs scraped. People started talking. She remained seated. Then sighed. "I want to go home." "You just got here." She nearly screamed. She looked beside her. The girl from earlier stared at her. "You've been weird all day." "Oh." The girl frowned. "Are you sick?" "No." "Then why do you look like someone told you the world is ending?" Because it kind of is. "I'm fine." "You don't seem fine." "I'm fine." She definitely wasn't fine. The girl sighed. "Weirdo." Then she left. She dropped her head onto the desk. This was a nightmare. A very realistic nightmare. "Excuse me." She looked up. And almost died. Yeon Si-eun stood beside her desk. She blinked. Once. Twice. Why was he here? He looked down at her. "You dropped this." He placed an eraser on her desk. She stared. He stared back. The eraser sat between them. Her brain stopped. Again. "Oh." She grabbed it. "Thanks." He didn't move. He simply looked at her. Like he was observing something. Trying to solve something. She shifted awkwardly. "...Can I help you?" Silence. Then— "You've been looking at us all morning." She choked. "What?" "You keep looking over here." Oh. No. No, no, no. Had she? Apparently yes. Because his expression didn't change. She immediately panicked. "I wasn't staring!" He blinked. "I mean—I wasn't staring in a weird way." Silence. "This sounds suspicious." He continued looking at her. She wanted the ground to swallow her. "I just thought…" she began. Then stopped. Because she couldn't exactly say: I know your entire life story and future trauma because I watched a drama about you. She laughed awkwardly. "I thought you looked familiar." That was stupid. She knew it the moment she said it. Because he definitely did not know her. Yet— His expression changed slightly. Barely. But enough for her to notice. "Familiar?" She nodded nervously. A strange silence followed. Then he said quietly, "I thought the same thing." She froze. What? He looked at her. Completely serious. "I feel like I've seen you before." Her brain crashed. That— That wasn't supposed to happen. She had never existed in this world. She wasn't a character. She wasn't even a background extra. She wasn't supposed to be here. So why— "Are you okay?" She blinked. "What?" "You look pale." She stared at him. Then at the classroom. Then back at him. No. Something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Because Yeon Si-eun was still standing there. Still looking at her. As if he was trying to remember something. And for some reason— She had the horrible feeling that her plan to remain a background character had already failed. She wasn't supposed to exist in this world she was a glitch in this world ,someone whose existence wasn't there but not it is and every other existence is gonna depend on her A mysterious transfer student who appeared at Eunjang High one day, she seemed ordinary at first glance—bright, cheerful, and a little diva who loved shopping, pretty things, and dressing up. Kind-hearted and endlessly empathetic, she was the type of person who felt every emotion deeply, whether it was her own happiness or someone else's pain. She laughed easily, comforted others without hesitation, and always wore a warm smile. Yet beneath her cheerful exterior lay fears, insecurities, and silent struggles she kept hidden from everyone. Perhaps that was why people couldn't stay away from her. There was something about her that made others want to understand her, protect her... and never let her go Still strawberries and cigarettes always taste like💓
