The Aura of a Thirsty Legend

The weekend was supposed to be a time for recovery, a brief respite from the grueling curriculum of UA and the physical toll of interning under Endeavor. However, Izuku Midoriya was quickly learning that being best friends with Camie Utsushimi was a full-time occupation that required more stamina than a hundred-meter dash with One For All at twenty percent.

Izuku sat on his bed in the Heights Alliance dorms, his phone vibrating so violently against his mattress that it sounded like a trapped hornet. He picked it up, expecting a meme or perhaps a blurry photo of a cat. Instead, the screen was filled with a video file that had just finished downloading.

He tapped play. The camera was positioned low on a floor-length mirror. Camie was standing in what appeared to be her bedroom at the Shiketsu dorms, wearing her hero catsuit, but the zipper was undone all the way to her navel, held together only by the sheer tension of the fabric over her hips. She wasn't looking at the camera; she was turned away, looking over her shoulder with a smirk that could only be described as predatory.

"Hey, Izu-kun," her voice purred through the speakers, dripping with a sugary, deliberate sweetness. "I was just checking my gear for 'structural integrity' like you suggested, and I noticed something. The way this suit grips the back... it’s like, totally extra, right? I feel like it really highlights my best features. What do you think? Is the vibe... juicy?"

In the video, she proceeded to do a slow, deep squat, the dark material of the suit straining and stretching across her backside in a way that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. She held the position for a heartbeat, giving the camera—and Izuku—a lingering, high-definition view of her curves before popping back up with a wink.

"Don't forget to hydrate, babe! You look like you're parched!"

The video ended with a little peace sign. Izuku’s phone slipped from his numb fingers, clattering onto the floor. He sat there, his face a shade of crimson that shouldn't be biologically possible, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his ribs. His brain had effectively blue-screened. He could still see the afterimage of the dark fabric stretching, the way her hips had swayed, the sheer *confidence* of it.

"Oh my god," he whispered into the empty room, burying his face in his hands. "She’s going to be the death of me. She’s actually going to kill me."

His phone buzzed again. A text.

*Camie [10:14 AM]: omg did u die? did the thirst trap actually finish u off? rip to a legend. 🪦💀✨*

Izuku picked up the phone with trembling hands, his thumbs hovering over the keyboard. He needed to be firm. He needed to be a hero. He needed to tell her that this was highly inappropriate for a professional—

*Izuku [10:16 AM]: Camie, that was... I mean, the suit is... you can't just send that! What if someone saw?! And the squat was... very... well-executed...*

*Camie [10:16 AM]: 'well-executed'?? Izu-kun, ur such a dork. just say my ass looks fat and move on. honesty is growth, babe. own the thirst. it’s your truth.*

*Izuku [10:17 AM]: I am NOT thirsty! I am just... observant!*

*Camie [10:17 AM]: observant of my cakes? bet. anyway, get ur cute self down to the mall. we’re having a collab day. no training, just vibes. and wear something snatched, i wanna take pics.*

Two hours later, Izuku was standing in the center of the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall, feeling like a sheep led to the slaughter. He had tried to dress "snatched," which in his mind meant a clean t-shirt and his favorite red shoes, but he felt woefully underdressed the moment he saw Camie approaching.

She was a walking fashion statement. She wore a pair of high-waisted, incredibly tight denim shorts and a white crop top that was essentially a suggestion of a garment. Her Shiketsu hat was perched at a jaunty angle, and her lips were so glossy they practically reflected the mall’s neon lights.

"Izu-kun! Look at you, serving 'cautiously optimistic' realness!" she chirped, throwing her arms around his neck in a hug that forced his face directly into the crook of her neck. She smelled like expensive perfume and summer.

"Hi, Camie," Izuku managed to choke out, his hands hovering awkwardly behind her back.

She pulled away, but didn't release him entirely, keeping her hands on his shoulders as she scanned him. "You look super stressed. Is the trauma from the video still fresh? Do you need a trigger warning next time, or did it just unlock a new level for you?"

"Can we please not talk about the video in public?" Izuku hissed, looking around frantically to see if any of his classmates were nearby. "People might hear!"

"Let them hear! Being a thirst-trap connoisseur isn't a crime, it’s a lifestyle," Camie laughed, hooking her arm firmly through his and dragging him toward a trendy clothing store. "Come on. We need to find you something that screams 'I’m a top-tier hero' and not 'I do my own taxes'."

The shopping trip was a masterclass in psychological warfare. Camie didn't just shop; she performed. She would pick out outfits for Izuku, holding shirts up to his chest while leaning in so close that he could feel the warmth of her body. Every time he tried to look away, she would find a way to redirect his attention to her.

"Izu-kun, does this skirt make my vibe look too 'main character'?" she asked, standing in front of a three-way mirror. She wasn't just wearing the skirt; she was posing, arching her back and looking at her reflection with an appreciative hum.

Izuku, who had been trying to read the label on a pair of socks, looked up and immediately regretted it. The skirt was short—dangerously short—and the way she was twisting allowed him a glimpse of the toned curve of her thigh that made his mouth go dry.

"It... it looks very nice, Camie. Very... fashionable," he squeaked.

"Nice? Izu-kun, you’re failing the vibe check," she pouted, turning around and walking toward him. She stopped inches away, her eyes searching his. "You’re doing the 'heroic denial' thing again. I can literally see your pupils dilating. Your quirk isn't the only thing that’s 'Full Cowl' right now, is it?"

Izuku’s brain short-circuited. "My—my quirk? What does that even—Camie!"

She giggled, a wicked, playful sound, and reached out to pat his cheek. "You’re so easy. It’s like playing a video game on 'story mode'. But for real, you’re looking at me like I’m a five-course meal and you’ve been fasting for a month. It’s okay to be hungry, babe. I’m a whole buffet."

She leaned in, her lips inches from his ear. "If you keep making that face, I might have to show you the 'structural integrity' of this skirt in the changing room. No cap."

Izuku felt a physical jolt go through him. He took a stumbling step back, his face a vibrant shade of magenta. "I—I think I need some air! Or water! A lot of water!"

"Go get some, thirsty boy!" Camie called out after him, her laughter echoing through the store. "I’ll be in the shoe section serving 'goddess' energy!"

By the time they reached the food court, Izuku had managed to regain some semblance of composure, though his heart still did a little flip every time Camie shifted in her seat. They sat at a small table, sharing a massive tray of takoyaki.

"So," Camie said, popping a piece of octopus into her mouth. "The fans are literally losing their minds over that photo I posted of us. They’ve started a ship name. 'Mido-Cam'. Or 'Green Glamour'. Which one do you think is more 'on brand'?"

"Ship name?" Izuku repeated, his eyes widening. "But... we’re besties! People shouldn't be... shipping us!"

"Why not? We’re a total power couple aesthetic," Camie argued, leaning over the table. The movement caused her crop top to shift, and Izuku found himself staring at the smooth skin of her midriff and the hint of her lace bra. He quickly looked down at his takoyaki, his ears burning.

"Izu-kun, you’re literally staring at my belly button. Is it that fascinating?"

"I was looking at the... the sauce! There’s a lot of sauce on these!"

Camie reached across the table and took his hand, her thumb tracing circles on the back of his palm. The gesture was surprisingly gentle, a sharp contrast to her relentless teasing. "You know, you’re the only person I can do this with."

"Do what? Tease until I have a heart attack?"

"No," she said, her voice softening. "Be this... extra. With everyone else, I feel like I have to keep the 'Glamour' up, you know? I have to be the perfect Shiketsu girl or the perfect flirt. But with you, I can be a total menace and I know you won't leave. You just blush and tell me about 'structural integrity'."

She looked at him, her dark eyes unusually sincere. "You’re my safe space, Izu-kun. Even if I love making you suffer, it’s because I know you’re strong enough to handle it. You’re the only one who sees the girl behind the slang."

Izuku felt a swell of affection that completely bypassed his embarrassment. He squeezed her hand back, his grip firm and steady. "I like the girl behind the slang, Camie. Even if she is a menace."

"A 'top-tier' menace, thank you very much," she chirped, the moment of vulnerability passing as she snapped a quick selfie of their joined hands. "Look at this. The lighting is literally perfect. This is going to break the internet. #BestieGoals #MidoCam #ThirstIsReal."

"Camie, please don't use that last hashtag," Izuku pleaded.

"Too late, it’s already live!" she laughed, sliding her phone back into her pocket. She stood up and stretched, her arms reaching high above her head. The action pulled her top up even further, and she deliberately held the pose, watching Izuku’s eyes track the movement.

"See something you like, Hero-kun?"

Izuku sighed, a small, defeated smile tugging at his lips. "I think I’ve reached a point where I can't even deny it anymore."

"Growth! We love to see it!" Camie cheered, bouncing over to his side of the table and planting a loud, wet kiss on his cheek. "Come on. There’s a photo booth in the arcade that has a 'sparkle' filter. We need to document this level of iconic-ness."

As they walked toward the arcade, Camie leaned her weight against him, her hip bumping into his with every step. She was constantly touching him—adjusting his hair, poking his ribs, or just resting her hand on his arm. It was her love language, a constant, physical reassurance of their bond.

In the photo booth, the chaos reached its peak. Camie insisted on poses that were increasingly "unhinged."

"Okay, for this one, I’m gonna sit on your lap and you look like you’re trying to calculate the square root of my hotness!" she commanded.

"Camie, there’s not enough room for—"

She sat down anyway, her weight settling firmly against his thighs. The booth was cramped, and the sensation of her body so close to his made Izuku’s vision swim. She leaned back against his chest, her hair smelling like strawberries, and looked up at him with a pout.

"Smile, Izu-kun! Don't look like you’re having a crisis!"

The camera flashed, capturing a photo of Camie looking like a starlet and Izuku looking like he was seeing God.

"Iconic," Camie whispered, looking at the printout. She tucked the photo into her phone case. "This is going on the mantlepiece. Right next to my license."

As the sun began to set, casting long, orange shadows across the mall’s parking lot, they stood by the bus stop. The day had been exhausting, a non-stop barrage of flirtation and friendship, but as Izuku looked at Camie, he felt a profound sense of gratitude.

"Thanks for today, Camie. It was... a lot. But it was fun."

"It was a total slay," she agreed, stepping onto the bottom step of the bus. She turned back, her hand on the railing. "And Izu-kun? About that video... I have a whole folder of them. Sparring sessions, outfit checks, even one of me in the shower where I’m singing the UA school anthem just to troll you."

Izuku’s jaw dropped. "The shower?! Camie, you wouldn't!"

"Try me, babe," she winked, the bus doors beginning to close. "Check your DMs in an hour. It’s gonna be a total 'no-sleep' night for you. Love ya, bestie! Stay thirsty!"

The bus pulled away, leaving Izuku standing on the sidewalk, his phone already buzzing in his pocket. He looked at the screen. A new video file was downloading.

*Camie [6:45 PM]: [Video File - 0:45]*

*Camie [6:45 PM]: hope u like the 'structural integrity' of this one. it’s a real cliffhanger. 😉🍑🔥*

Izuku groaned, a helpless, happy sound, and started the long walk back to UA. He knew he shouldn't open it. He knew he should be the responsible successor of All Might. But as he felt the cool evening breeze, he couldn't help but smile.

He was a hero, he was a student, and he was currently the most flustered boy in Japan. But more importantly, he was Camie Utsushimi’s best friend. And that, he decided, was the most iconic vibe of all.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out his earbuds, and hit play.

"No cap," he whispered to the empty street, his face already starting to burn. "She’s definitely the goat."
