Forbidden love

The Hunger of the Hunter

The drive to Luka’s home was an exercise in controlled violence. Sergio’s hands gripped the leather-wrapped steering wheel of his Audi with enough force to make the stitching groan. Every red light was an insult, every slow-moving tourist in the Madrid suburbs a personal affront to the storm brewing in his gut. He didn't turn on the radio. The only sound in the cabin was his own heavy, rhythmic breathing and the low, predatory hum of the engine.

He knew Vanja and the kids were away visiting family for the weekend; Luka had mentioned it in passing days ago, a detail Sergio hadn't realized he’d filed away until the moment he sent that text. The house was a fortress of silence when he pulled into the driveway. The sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving the sky a bruised, deep purple that matched the color of the marks Sergio wanted to leave on Luka’s skin.

He didn't knock. He used the key he’d carried for years, the one that symbolized a brotherhood he was about to set ablaze.

The foyer was dim, lit only by the ambient glow of the streetlights outside. Sergio kicked the door shut behind him, the heavy thud echoing through the hallway. He didn't call out. He didn't need to. He could feel Luka’s presence like a magnetic pull, drawing him toward the back of the house, toward that same guest room where the world had changed twenty-four hours ago.

He found Luka standing by the window. He was dressed in a simple, oversized white t-shirt and soft cotton shorts, looking painfully small against the backdrop of the darkened garden. When the floorboard creaked under Sergio’s weight, Luka spun around, his breath hitching in a way that was audible in the stillness.

"You came," Luka whispered. His voice was thin, trembling with a mixture of terror and a longing so profound it was almost physical.

Sergio didn't speak. He stepped into the room, the moonlight catching the hard angles of his face and the dark ink crawling up his neck. He looked massive in the confined space, a mountain of muscle and tattooed skin that seemed to swallow the light. He walked until he was inches away, his shadow completely enveloping the smaller man.

"I told you I would," Sergio said, his voice a low, dangerous rumble.

Luka looked up at him, his brown eyes wide and shimmering with unshed tears. He looked like he was waiting for a blow, or a kiss, or both. "Sergio, I... I don't know what to do. I’ve wanted this for so long, I think I’m going to break."

"Then break," Sergio commanded. He reached out, his large hands grabbing Luka’s waist and hoisting him up as if he weighed nothing.

Luka let out a startled gasp, his legs instinctively wrapping around Sergio’s hips, his fingers digging into the fabric of Sergio’s polo shirt. He was so light, so delicate, yet he felt like a live wire in Sergio’s arms. Sergio carried him the three steps to the bed and dropped him onto the mattress, following him down instantly, pinning him beneath the crushing weight of his body.

Luka let out a choked sound, half-sob and half-moan, as the air was knocked out of him. He looked up at Sergio, his long lashes wet, his chest heaving. "Sese... please."

"Please what?" Sergio growled, his hands pinning Luka’s wrists to the pillow above his head. He leaned down, his nose brushing against Luka’s, his lips a hair’s breadth from the Croatian’s ear. "Tell me what you want, Luka. Use the words you were using yesterday when you thought no one was listening."

Luka’s face burned a deep, bruised crimson. He tried to turn his head away, but Sergio’s grip was iron. "I... I want you to... to take it. All of it."

"Not good enough," Sergio hissed, nipping at the sensitive skin of Luka’s earlobe. He felt Luka shudder beneath him, a violent tremor that started in his chest and radiated to his toes. "You wanted to feel small, didn't you? You wanted to be manhandled. You wanted to know what it’s like when I stop being your friend and start being your owner."

"Yes!" Luka cried out, the word breaking into a sob. "Yes, Sergio. Please. Make me helpless. I hate myself for it, but I want you to destroy me."

The honesty of the confession snapped the last thread of Sergio’s restraint. He let go of Luka’s wrists only to grab the hem of the white t-shirt, yanking it over Luka’s head and discarding it on the floor. He stared down at the pale, smooth skin of Luka’s torso, the way his ribs flared with every frantic breath. Sergio felt a surge of pure, unadulterated hunger.

He lowered his head, his mouth finding the junction of Luka’s neck and shoulder. He didn't kiss; he bit. He sank his teeth into the soft flesh, marking him, claiming him. Luka arched his back off the bed, his hands flying to Sergio’s hair, pulling him closer even as he let out a sharp cry of pain.

"Mine," Sergio muttered against his skin, his voice thick and distorted. "You’ve been mine for years, and you were too scared to say it."

"I was," Luka gasped, his eyes squeezed shut. "I was so scared you’d hate me. That you’d look at me with disgust."

Sergio pulled back, his eyes dark and wild. "Disgust? Luka, I watched you through that door and I’ve never wanted anything more in my life. I wanted to walk in and show you exactly how much 'anything' I could do to you."

He moved his hand down, his palm flat against Luka’s stomach, feeling the muscles twitch and jump. He began to trail his fingers lower, hooking them into the waistband of Luka’s shorts. He watched Luka’s face, savoring the way the "Wizard" looked so utterly conquered.

"You're so beautiful like this," Sergio whispered, his voice softening but losing none of its edge. "Trembling. Begging. I’m going to make you forget your own name, Luka. The only word you’re going to remember is mine."

"Sergio," Luka whimpered, his hips jerking upward, seeking the contact he’d only ever hallucinated. "Please, Sese. Now. I can't wait anymore."

"You’ll wait as long as I tell you to," Sergio countered, his voice shifting back into the tone of a captain, a commander. He leaned his full weight onto Luka, relishing the way the smaller man groaned under the pressure. "You wanted me on top of you? You wanted to feel the difference between us? Here it is."

He began to grind his hips against Luka’s, the friction of their clothes doing little to dampen the intensity. Luka’s head thrashed against the pillow, his lips parted in a silent scream of pleasure. He looked frantic, his hands roaming over the tattoos on Sergio’s back, tracing the lines of ink as if trying to memorize them through his fingertips.

Sergio reached down and finally rid them both of the remaining barriers. When skin finally met skin, the contact was electric. Sergio felt the heat of Luka’s thighs, the softness of his inner skin, and the hard, sharp reality of his desire.

He moved back up, his hands framing Luka’s face. He forced Luka to open his eyes, to look at him, to see the man who was about to take everything.

"Look at me, Luka," Sergio commanded.

Luka’s eyes fluttered open, glassy and unfocused. "I’m looking."

"I’m not Pilar’s right now. And you aren't Vanja’s," Sergio said, his voice dropping to a terrifyingly intimate whisper. "Right now, in this room, there is no Real Madrid. There is no football. There is only the fact that you belong to me. Do you understand?"

"I understand," Luka breathed, his voice filled with a strange, holy kind of awe. "I’m yours. Do whatever you want. Please, just... do it."

Sergio didn't need to be told again. He leaned down and captured Luka’s mouth in a kiss that was nothing like the friendly pecks they shared on the pitch. It was a collision, a desperate, tongue-lashing battle that tasted of salt and longing. He tasted the quiet Croatian midfielder and found a hidden fire that matched his own.

As he moved to settle between Luka’s legs, Sergio felt a strange sense of homecoming. The guilt was there, lurking in the shadows of his mind, but it was drowned out by the sheer, overwhelming rightness of the way Luka fit beneath him. He was the anchor, and Luka was the ship lost at sea, finally finding the shore.

He began to move, slow and deliberate at first, wanting to savor every hitch in Luka’s breath, every whimper that escaped those bruised lips. He watched Luka’s face go through a kaleidoscope of expressions—shock, agony, and finally, a blinding, radiant ecstasy.

"Sese... Sese, please!" Luka cried out, his fingernails digging into the muscles of Sergio’s shoulders, drawing blood.

"That's it," Sergio urged, his pace quickening, his movements becoming rougher, more demanding. "Give it to me. Give me everything, Luka."

The room was filled with the sounds of their struggle—the creak of the bed, the wet slap of skin, and the ragged, desperate prayers of a man who had finally been found. Luka was a mess, his hair matted with sweat, his face wet with tears, his body shaking with the force of his release. He looked exactly how Sergio had imagined him: broken, beautiful, and utterly consumed.

When it was over, Sergio didn't pull away. He collapsed on top of Luka, burying his face in the crook of the smaller man’s neck, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against Luka’s chest. He felt Luka’s arms wrap around him, holding him with a strength that was surprising for someone so small.

They lay there for a long time in the dark, the only sound the fading echoes of their breathing. The silence was different now. It wasn't the heavy, expectant silence of the hallway; it was the exhausted, quiet peace of a battlefield after the war has ended.

Luka was the first to speak, his voice a mere thread of sound. "You’re still here."

Sergio lifted his head, looking down at the man beneath him. Luka looked fragile, his skin marked with the ghosts of Sergio’s hands and teeth, but his eyes were clear. There was no regret in them, only a profound, quiet relief.

"I’m not going anywhere," Sergio said, and to his surprise, he realized he meant it.

He rolled off, but only far enough to pull Luka into his side, tucking the smaller man’s head under his chin. He felt Luka settle against him, his body molding to Sergio’s as if they were two pieces of a puzzle finally clicked into place.

"What happens tomorrow?" Luka whispered into the dark.

Sergio closed his eyes, his hand tracing the line of Luka’s spine. Tomorrow, they would go back to Valdebebas. They would put on the white shirts of the greatest club in the world. They would laugh with Marcelo, they would listen to Zidane, and they would pretend that the world hadn't ended and begun again in a guest bedroom in the suburbs.

But Sergio knew he would never be able to look at Luka on the pitch without seeing this. He would never be able to hug him after a goal without feeling the ghost of Luka’s heartbeat against his own.

"Tomorrow, we play," Sergio said, his voice firm. "And I keep you safe. And when the sun goes down, you remember who you belong to."

Luka let out a long, shaky breath, his hand coming up to rest over Sergio’s heart. "I won't forget. I could never forget."

Sergio tightened his grip, his eyes fixed on the moonlit window. He knew the path ahead was treacherous. He knew the lies they would have to tell and the lives they were risking. But as he felt Luka fall into a deep, exhausted sleep in his arms, Sergio Ramos knew he wouldn't change a single thing.

The predator had caught his prey, but in the end, it was hard to tell who was really the captive. Sergio leaned down, pressing a final, lingering kiss to the top of Luka’s head.

"Sleep, Wizard," he whispered. "The fire isn't going out."
