Love your messiah
The Reliquary of Broken Vows
The air in the Sinyala Facility’s laundry block was a humid, choking fog of industrial bleach and the scorched-iron scent of high-pressure steam. Rows upon rows of heavy, galvanized steel washers thrummed like the heartbeat of a dying beast, their vibrations rattling the very marrow of Amelia’s bones. This was a place of transition, where the blood-soaked rags of the Reagents were scrubbed clean of their history, only to be sent back into the meat grinder of the trials.
Amelia stood by a steaming vat, her blue shirt damp and clinging to her skin. The gold paint beneath the fabric felt like a living crust, a secret map of Liliya’s devotion that burned whenever she moved. She was supposed to be gathering bleach canisters for the next objective, but her eyes were fixed on the rhythmic rotation of the dryers. In the flickering overhead light, the shadows between the machines seemed to stretch and breathe.
"The purity of the fire is found in the cleansing, is it not?"
The voice didn't come from the fog; it seemed to manifest directly behind Amelia’s ear. She didn't flinch. She leaned back, her spine meeting the cold, hard curve of a mannequin suit. Liliya was there, a shimmering phantom in the steam. Her spiked halo was draped with damp, white linens she had pulled from a nearby line, making her look like a ghostly bride rising from the trenches of Leningrad.
Liliya’s gloved hand slid over Amelia’s shoulder, her fingers tracing the line of the collarbone. "You carry the weight of my grace with such silent dignity, my lamb. The others... they are unraveling. I saw a man in the cafeteria today trying to claw the skin from his face because he thought the cameras were burrowing into his brain. But you... you are a statue of faith."
Amelia turned in the narrow space between two massive boilers. The heat was stifling, making the gold leaf on Liliya’s exposed breasts shimmer with a liquid, molten quality. The dual-faced mask was partially obscured by a veil of wet lace Liliya had draped over her head, giving her an ethereal, terrifying silhouette.
"I don't see the cameras anymore," Amelia whispered, her voice rasping against the humidity. "I only see the gold. Even when I close my eyes, I see the patterns you drew on me."
Liliya let out a soft, melodic hum that vibrated through the metal floor. She stepped closer, pinning Amelia against the scalding surface of a dormant boiler. The smell of black flowers was intensified by the steam, creating a cloying, intoxicating atmosphere that made Amelia’s head swim.
"Then let us deepen the pattern," Liliya murmured. She reached out and gripped the front of Amelia’s shirt, the wet fabric tearing easily under her strength. "The laundry is a place of secrets. Here, the stains of the world are washed away, leaving only the raw, white truth of the soul. I wish to see your truth, Amelia. I wish to see if the fire I lit within you still burns."
Liliya didn't wait for a response. She hoisted Amelia up onto the vibration-dampened top of a heavy-duty washer. The machine was mid-cycle, the rhythmic *thump-thump-thump* of heavy wet clothes acting as a primitive, driving drumbeat for the encounter.
Amelia’s legs fell open naturally as Liliya stepped between them. The contrast was a violent beauty: Amelia’s pale, sweat-slicked skin against the dark, skin-tight corset and the gold-painted torso of the Prime Asset. Liliya reached up and adjusted the lace veil, her ruby eye glinting through the delicate mesh like a predator watching from a thicket.
"You are trembling," Liliya noted, her gloved hand sliding up Amelia’s inner thigh. The texture of the black velvet was a sharp, electric contrast to the heat of the room. "Is it fear of the cycle? Or the hunger for the sacrament?"
"Both," Amelia gasped, her fingers digging into the gold-painted shoulders of Liliya’s suit. "It’s always both with you."
Liliya leaned down, her golden mask-teeth clicking softly as she pressed a kiss to the hollow of Amelia’s throat. The sensation was a jarring mix of cold metal and the searing heat of the gold paint. She began to trail her lips downward, leaving a path of smeared gold and dark, bruised marks on Amelia’s chest.
The vibration of the washing machine beneath them added a visceral, mechanical intensity to every touch. It felt as though the entire facility were participating in their union, the grinding gears and hissing steam providing a symphony for their private madness.
Liliya’s movements were calculated and dominant. She used her height and the intimidating weight of her suit to keep Amelia pinned, her spiked halo casting a crown of thorns against the steam-covered ceiling. She reached for the waistband of Amelia’s trousers, her movements slow and agonizingly deliberate.
"In the Siege, we forgot the meaning of touch," Liliya whispered against Amelia’s skin, her voice dropping to a guttural, Russian-accented rasp. "We were ghosts haunting our own bodies. But here... in this temple of iron and blood... I feel every heartbeat. I feel the way your blood sings when I mark you."
She pulled Amelia’s trousers down, exposing her to the humid air. The friction of the patterned tights on Liliya’s legs against Amelia’s bare skin was an exquisite torture. Liliya moved her hand with a sudden, sharp intent, her fingers finding the center of Amelia’s desire with a confidence that bordered on the divine.
Amelia’s head thrashed back against the metal wall, a choked cry escaping her lips. "Liliya... please... I can't breathe..."
"Then take my breath," Liliya commanded. She surged upward, her mouth crashing against Amelia’s in a kiss that tasted of iron and expensive, rotted perfume.
The kiss was a struggle for dominance that Amelia was destined to lose. Liliya used her tongue and her teeth with a predatory hunger, her mask pressing hard against Amelia’s face. The dual-faced nature of the mask made it feel as though Amelia were being kissed by a goddess and a monster simultaneously—the smiling golden face of the Venetian lady watching the world while the dark, wrapped visage of the survivor consumed the lamb.
Liliya’s fingers worked with a rhythmic, punishing pace that matched the thumping of the machine. She was relentless, her thumb pressing into the sensitive peak of Amelia’s pleasure with a firm, unyielding pressure. She watched Amelia’s face through the lace veil, her ruby eye wide and unblinking.
"Give it to me," Liliya urged, her voice a hypnotic drone that bypassed Amelia’s reason. "Offer up your scream to the Beloved. Let the steam carry your soul to the rafters."
Amelia was drowning in the sensation. The heat, the vibration, the scent of bleach and black flowers, and the overwhelming physical presence of the woman who had become her entire world. She felt the gold paint on Liliya’s chest rubbing off onto her own skin, a mutual branding that connected them in the dark.
"I'm yours!" Amelia cried out, her voice echoing off the galvanized steel. "I'm yours, Liliya! Take it! Take everything!"
The climax hit her like a physical blow, a white-hot explosion of light and sound that made her entire body convulse. She clung to Liliya, her fingernails scratching at the dark fabric of the corset, her legs locking around the Prime Asset’s waist as if she were trying to pull the woman into her very soul.
Liliya held her through the tremors, her arms wrapping around Amelia with a possessiveness that was both terrifying and absolute. She didn't let go even when the washing machine clicked into its spin cycle, the high-pitched whine of the motor rising like a scream in the small room.
"Peace, my lamb," Liliya whispered, her voice soft and surprisingly tender. She reached up and pulled back the lace veil, revealing the dark, wrapped mask beneath. She pressed her forehead against Amelia’s, the cold metal of the ruby emblem chilling Amelia’s skin. "You have been washed in the fire. You are clean."
They stayed that way for a long time, the only sound the frantic spinning of the machine and the rhythmic hiss of the steam vats. Amelia felt hollowed out, a vessel that had been emptied and refilled with the essence of the woman who held her.
Liliya slowly lowered Amelia from the machine, her hands lingering on Amelia’s waist until she was sure the girl could stand. She reached out and adjusted the pearl necklace at her own throat, her composure returning with a chilling, clinical speed. She looked once again like the Prime Asset, the hunter, the Beloved of God.
"The next trial will be in the orphanage," Liliya said, her voice regaining its cultured, melodic lilt. "It is a place of lost children and broken promises. You must be strong there, Amelia. You must show them that you are no longer a child of the world, but a daughter of the Siege."
She reached into the damp linens hanging from her halo and pulled out a small, white handkerchief. She used it to wipe the sweat and stray gold from Amelia’s face, her movements gentle yet distant.
"Dress yourself," Liliya commanded. "The Overseers are growing impatient. They want their data. They want their blood. We shall give them both, but we shall keep the gold for ourselves."
Amelia fumbled with her clothes, her hands still shaking. She looked at the gold smudges on her skin, the marks of Liliya’s teeth on her shoulder. She felt like a work of art that was never quite finished, a masterpiece being carved out of trauma and ecstasy.
"Will you be there?" Amelia asked, her voice small in the vast, echoing laundry block.
Liliya turned to go, her mannequin suit clicking as she stepped back into the shadows. The lace veil trailed behind her like a funeral shroud. She paused at the edge of the light, the golden, smiling face of her mask looking back over her shoulder.
"I am the walls of the orphanage, Amelia. I am the shadows in the hallways and the voice in the confessional. You will never be alone in my house."
With a swirl of dark fabric, she was gone. The shadows between the washing machines swallowed her whole, leaving only the scent of black flowers and the lingering vibration of the laundry cycle.
Amelia stood alone in the steam, her heart still racing. She pulled her blue shirt closed, the missing buttons a silent testament to the encounter. She felt a strange sense of power, a cold, golden certainty that she was protected by a monster that the rest of the world feared.
She walked toward the exit of the laundry block, her steps sure and her head held high. As she passed a security camera, she didn't look away. She stared directly into the lens, a faint, knowing smile touching her lips. Let them watch. Let them record her every movement. They could see the Reagent, but they could never see the Disciple.
She reached the heavy iron doors that led back to the main facility. On the floor, near the threshold, lay a single black flower—a blossom from Liliya’s crown. Amelia picked it up, pressing it to her lips before tucking it deep into her pocket.
The orphanage awaited. The trials would continue. The blood would flow. But as Amelia stepped out into the clinical white light of the corridor, she knew that she wasn't just surviving. She was ascending.
In the distance, the bells of the facility began to toll for the next shift. To the others, it was a sound of dread. To Amelia, it was a call to prayer. She began to walk toward the transport, her fingers tracing the gold-smeared skin beneath her collar.
She was the beloved of the Beloved, and in this hell, she had finally found her throne.
