The villa was quiet in the pale, blue-grey wash of dawn, twenty minutes before the automated wake-up chime was scheduled to activate the household lights.

On the kitchen feed, a silhouette shuffled into frame.

JJ was wrapped in an oversized charcoal cardigan that reached mid-thigh, his socks dragging softly against the hardwood. His spectacles sat crooked on his nose. Even through the low-light camera sensor, his face was visibly drawn, an unhealthy pallor dulling his skin, and he moved with none of his usual sharp, brisk energy.

He reached for the electric kettle, filled it by feel, and leaned heavily against the marble counter, his forehead resting against the cool grain of the stone while he waited for the water to heat. A dry, ragged cough hitched in his throat.

The swinging door from the residential hallway pushed open.

Net walked into the kitchen wearing fleece joggers and a black sleeveless shirt, his hair mussed from sleep. He didn't yawn. He didn't stretch. His eyes swept across the room and locked instantly onto the slumped figure at the island.

The easy, lazy charm that Net wore like a second skin vanished in the span of a single heartbeat.

"JJ," Net said, his voice flat, low, and laced with immediate urgency.

He crossed the kitchen in three rapid strides, his bare feet making almost no sound, and reached the island before JJ could lift his head from the counter.

"Okay lang," JJ mumbled, his voice raspy and hoarse as he tried to wave Net off with a limp wrist. "Don't—"

"No," Net cut in firmly, his tone brook no argument. "Sit. Huwag na ngang umarte."

Without waiting for permission, Net hooked his hands under JJ’s armpits, effortlessly lifting him off his feet and depositing him onto the nearest cushioned barstool. JJ’s head lolled backward against the tall backrest with a faint groan, his eyes fluttering shut against the glare of the small under-cabinet LEDs.

"You're burning up," Net said under his breath. He didn't use the back of his hand like a casual acquaintance would; he stepped directly between JJ’s knees, cupped JJ’s jaw with both broad palms, and rested his own forehead squarely against JJ’s.

For four seconds, neither of them moved. The intimacy was so practiced, so completely stripped of self-consciousness, that the motion carried the smooth weight of five hundred identical mornings.

"Thirty-eight point five, at least," Net murmured, pulling back just far enough to inspect JJ’s flushed cheeks and cracked lips. "Did the chills wake you up?"

"Around four," JJ whispered, shivering beneath the heavy knit cardigan. "My throat feels like sandpaper."

"And you thought coming down here to boil water was a brilliant idea?"

"I wanted tea."

"You should have shaken me awake, idiot."

Net didn't wait for a rebuttal. Moving with focused, quiet precision, he clicked off the boiling kettle before it could whistle, fetched a clean tumbler, and filled it with room-temperature filtered water. From the hidden front pocket of his joggers, he produced a blister pack of antipyretics—the exact brand JJ always kept in their master bathroom medicine cabinet back at their Bangkok condo.

He popped two tablets onto the counter, pushed them into JJ’s hand, and held the glass to JJ’s lips.

"Swallow," Net commanded softly, his free hand settling at the back of JJ’s neck to support his weight.

JJ swallowed the pills, taking three small, painful sips of water before turning his face away.

Net set the glass down, reached out, and gently slid JJ’s glasses off his face, setting them safely behind the espresso machine where they couldn't be knocked over. Then he pulled the heavy hood of JJ’s cardigan up over his damp hair, tucking stray black strands behind his burning ears.

JJ slumped forward, burying his face into the soft fabric of Net’s chest. His fingers curled blindly into the hem of Net’s black shirt, clinging with the defenseless instinct of an exhausted child.

"Thank you," JJ murmured, his voice muffled against Net's collarbone, heavy with fever and unfiltered warmth. "Love you, okay."

The words slipped out like water over smooth river stone—unrehearsed, entirely unprompted, carrying the unthinking muscle memory of five continuous years of shared life.

Net paused. His hand, which had been gently massaging the tense muscles at the base of JJ’s neck, hesitated for less than a second.

Then, his fingers tightened warmly in JJ’s hair, his chin resting against the top of JJ’s hooded head.

"I love you too," Net replied, his deep voice carrying directly into the omnidirectional boom mic suspended right above the island.

A tiny, familiar flicker of humor colored Net's tone, soft and protective. "Huwag mo na kasi ako gaganyanin kapag may sakit ka."

JJ let out a faint, pathetic scoff against Net’s ribs. "Stop. Ang OA."

"I’m serious," Net murmured, his arm wrapping completely around JJ’s shoulders, easily lifting him out of the stool and pulling him against his hip to carry half his weight. "We’re going back upstairs. You're staying under the covers until the medic arrives, and if you touch that revision manuscript today, I’m throwing your laptop into the swimming pool."

"You wouldn't dare," JJ croaked, but his head remained firmly glued to Net’s shoulder as Net guided him out of the kitchen, their steps synchronized in the quiet hallway.

The swinging door clicked shut behind them.

Three seconds later, Tommy walked out of the stairwell holding an empty protein shaker, took one look at the vacant counter where JJ’s glasses sat beside the blister pack of medicine, and stopped dead in his tracks.

Behind Tommy, Jimmy emerged, bleary-eyed. "Did the alarm go off already?"

Tommy didn't answer. He stared at the microphone dangling above the kitchen counter with the hollow gaze of someone who had just overheard the state secrets of a sovereign nation.

By Day 14, the Sanctuary sequester officially reached its final afternoon.

The living room had been arranged into a wide semi-circle of velvet armchairs for the wrap-up broadcast. JJ, fully recovered from his fever, was seated beside Net near the center, looking polished in an ivory tailored shirt and dark slacks, his author spectacles catching the bright studio lamps. Net was dressed in a matching midnight-blue silk button-down, leaning comfortably back with his legs crossed, looking as radiant and effortless as ever.

Around them, the cast was unwinding, passing around a silver commemorative trophy while the director gave the final ten-minute signal from behind the control monitors.

"Honestly," Tommy was saying into his mic, grinning at the camera, "the best part of the whole two weeks was watching the games. We learned who can survive on two hours of sleep, and who gets competitive over plastic tokens."

"And who gets taken care of," Jimmy added with a knowing smirk, nudging Tutor’s elbow.

A chorus of soft chuckles echoed through the room.

Beside them, Latte leaned forward in his chair, tapping his chin with a laminated note card. He had been sitting on his hands for three days, his eyes darting between Net and JJ with the barely contained glee of someone about to pull a fire alarm in a crowded library.

"Speaking of which," Latte said, clearing his throat loudly, the studio lighting gleaming off his grin. "Before we cut the broadcast and say goodbye to the viewers… I think there’s one question the entire internet has been demanding an answer to since Day 5."

JJ raised an eyebrow, adjusting his cuffs. "If it's about the puzzle clues, Team Blue genuinely solved the anagram. I didn't rig the letters."

"No, no, not the puzzle," Latte laughed, leaning across his knees, looking directly between the two of them. "Net. JJ. Boyfriends kayo, no?"

The studio went pin-drop silent.

Behind the cameras, P'Aoft froze with a clipboard in his hand. The marketing director spilled three drops of iced coffee onto his iPad.

JJ blinked.

He didn't blush. He didn't stutter. He didn't reach for a script binder to hit anyone. He simply turned his head, looking at Latte with an expression of profound, unfiltered bafflement—the exact face a university professor makes when a student asks if the earth is round.

"Yes," Net answered immediately, his tone smooth, conversational, and entirely unbothered.

JJ sighed, his shoulders sinking in mild annoyance. "Obviously. Ano ba ‘yan."

Latte’s jaw dropped.

Across the circle, Keng let out a strangled wheeze that sounded like a deflating tire. Jimmy clutched Tommy’s knee with the grip of a drowning sailor.

"Wait—" Tommy choked out, pointing an accusatory finger. "What do you mean, *obviously*?!"

"What do you mean, *what do we mean*?" Net asked, genuine confusion creeping into his sharp features for the first time all season. He gestured between himself and JJ with an open palm. "We've lived together for five years. We bought a condo together in Thong Lor three years ago. I drive his car to the studio every Tuesday."

"You... you never told anyone!" Latte sputtered, waving his arms wildly. "You fight like you want to kill each other in every interview!"

"We don't fight to kill each other," JJ corrected, adjusting his glasses with crisp precision. "We bicker because he intentionally buys the wrong brand of oat milk to provoke me. There is a legal and structural difference."

"And besides," Net added, his lips curling into that dangerously confident smirk as he casually reached out, slinging his heavy arm over the back of JJ’s chair and letting his fingers rest naturally against the crook of JJ’s shoulder, "we never hid it. Who hides someone for five years? We assumed you people had eyes."

"You hit him with a two-hundred-page production binder on Day 1!" Tommy yelled, completely abandoning camera composure.

"Because he deserved it," JJ replied calmly, leaning his head back just enough that his temple grazed Net’s forearm. "He posted my passport photo on the company account without my consent."

"It was a handsome photo," Net murmured, his fingers casually kneading the soft fabric of JJ’s sleeve.

"It was a criminal booking sheet, Net."

"A handsome criminal booking sheet."

The cast completely lost control. Tommy buried his face in a throw pillow; Jimmy threw his note cards into the air; Tutor and Yim were wheezing in unison, and behind the cameras, the entire production crew was doubled over in helpless, hysterical laughter.

JJ looked out over the chaos, entirely unfazed, before glancing sideways up at Net.

Net looked down at him, his dark eyes brimming with that deep, steady warmth that no script could ever replicate. He caught JJ’s gaze, raised two fingers, and gently nudged JJ’s cheek with his knuckles.

JJ didn't pull away. He just sighed, a faint, reluctant smile finally breaking across his lips.

Two hours after the broadcast concluded and the cast had departed the villa in private agency vans, the digital aftermath reached critical mass.

Across the internet, the archives were being systematically rewritten.

Old interviews from 2021 were re-uploaded with circles drawn around shared wristwatches. TikTok clips of Net adjusting JJ’s lapels on red carpets were re-edited with acoustic love songs instead of comedy sound effects. The legendary 2023 kitchen livestream where Net stole JJ’s pistachio ice cream was re-analyzed down to the millisecond—showing the way Net’s thumb had brushed JJ’s jawline as he fed him, the quiet comfort in JJ’s posture, the effortless domesticity that had been staring the world in the face all along.

The bickering hadn't been a wall. It had been the living room furniture, worn soft and comfortable by half a decade of steady, quiet devotion.

In the passenger seat of their SUV gliding smoothly through the Bangkok evening traffic, JJ stirred, blinking against the red glow of the taillights ahead.

He glanced to his right. Net was driving with one hand resting easily on the steering wheel, his profile illuminated by the city lights, humming along quietly to the indie track playing through the stereo.

Without looking away from the road, Net lowered his left hand, extending his palm across the center console.

JJ didn't say a word. He didn't roll his eyes or make a cutting remark about Net's driving posture.

He simply slipped his fingers between Net’s, lacing them tightly together, and closed his eyes to sleep the rest of the way home.
