Velvet desire
The Velvet Shackle and the Crimson Dawn
The silence of the Kim estate was never truly silent. It was a pressurized, living thing, vibrating with the low hum of security systems, the rhythmic footfalls of armed men in the corridors, and the heavy, obsessive breathing of the man who owned it all. Jisoo lay in the center of the oversized bed, her limbs heavy with the afterglow of Taehyung’s possessive love, yet her mind was a frantic bird batting its wings against the gilded bars of her reality.
Taehyung was sprawled across her, his head anchored to her chest even in sleep. His grip on her waist was so tight it would leave faint yellowing bruises by morning—his favorite kind of jewelry. He didn't just want her; he wanted to fuse his molecular structure with hers until there was no distinction between where he ended and she began.
A soft chime from the bedside console broke the stillness. Taehyung’s eyes snapped open instantly. There was no transition from sleep to wakefulness for a man like him; there was only the predatory shift from dormant to lethal. He reached out, his hand grazing the gold anklet on Jisoo’s leg as he sat up, a silent reminder of her status before he addressed the world.
"Speak," he commanded, his voice a gravelly rasp.
"Sir," the voice of his head of security crackled through the encrypted line. "The shipment from the docks has been intercepted by the Council’s men. They’re demanding a meeting. They say you’ve become... distracted. They mentioned the Queen."
The air in the room seemed to drop twenty degrees. Taehyung’s face didn't move, but his eyes turned into abyssal pits of black rage. He looked down at Jisoo, who was pulling the silk sheets up to her chin, her eyes wide with the familiar dread that preceded his violence.
"Distracted?" Taehyung whispered, though the word carried the weight of a death sentence. "They think my devotion to my wife is a weakness? They think they can speak her name in the same breath as their petty politics?"
He stood up, his naked body a map of scars and power in the moonlight. He didn't look like a businessman or a king; he looked like an ancient deity of war. He walked to the walk-in closet, pulling on a black silk shirt and tailored trousers with movements that were terrifyingly precise.
"Taehyung," Jisoo called out softly, her voice trembling. "Please. Don't go out there with blood on your mind. Just talk to them."
He stopped, his hand on the doorframe. He turned back, and in three strides, he was back at the bedside. He grabbed her face in his large hands, his thumbs pressing into her cheeks.
"They mentioned you, Jisoo," he hissed, his obsession flaring like a physical heat. "They think they can use you as a bargaining chip. They think I am soft because I spend my hours buried in your skin. I have to go remind them why they call me the God of Death. I have to make sure no one ever dares to think of you again."
He leaned down, his mouth crashing against hers in a kiss that tasted of desperation and territorial rage. He broke away, his eyes scanning her body. "I’ll be back within the hour. If I hear that you’ve so much as stepped toward the door, I will kill every guard standing in the hallway for failing to restrain you. Do you understand?"
"Yes," she whispered, a tear sliding down her cheek.
"Feed me," he demanded suddenly, his voice breaking. "I can't go out there into that filth without the taste of you to keep me sane. Give me my strength, Jisoo."
She sat up, her heart aching for him even as she feared him. She opened her robe, the heavy, sweet scent of her milk filling the small space between them. Taehyung let out a jagged moan, dropping to his knees on the edge of the bed. He latched onto her with a ferocity that made her gasp, his hands clutching her shoulders as if he were trying to anchor himself to the earth.
He drank with a frantic, starving rhythm, his throat working in deep, desperate gulps. It wasn't just milk to him; it was his armor. It was the only thing that kept the monster from completely consuming the man. He switched to the other side, his tongue marking her skin, his teeth grazing the sensitive peak in a silent promise of the pain he was about to inflict on the world for her sake.
When he finally pulled away, his eyes were clear, cold, and utterly lethal. He wiped a drop of white from his lip, his expression hardening into stone. Without another word, he turned and walked out, the sound of the electronic lock clicking into place echoing like a gunshot through the room.
Jisoo sat in the dark, the silence pressing in on her. She walked to the window, watching the motorcade of black SUVs roar away from the estate. She felt the gold anklet grow cold against her skin. She was the most protected woman in the world, and yet, she had never felt more vulnerable.
The hour passed like a decade. Jisoo paced the room, her breasts aching with the constant production of milk that seemed to increase whenever he was away—a biological tether she couldn't break. Finally, the sound of the gates opening signaled his return.
When the door opened, the smell of ozone and copper hit her before she saw him. Taehyung walked in, his black shirt torn at the shoulder, his knuckles split and bleeding. He looked like he had crawled out of hell itself.
He didn't say a word. He walked straight to her, his eyes wild and bloodshot. He grabbed her, his blood-stained hands marking her white silk robe as he threw her onto the bed.
"They're gone," he rasped, his voice sounding broken. "The Council... they won't be speaking your name again. I made sure of it. I made them watch while I burned their tongues out. No one perceives you, Jisoo. No one."
He crawled over her, his weight crushing the air from her lungs. He was shaking, a fine tremor running through his massive frame. The violence had fed his demon, but now the demon was starving for her.
"I need you," he groaned, his face burying in the crook of her neck. "I need to wash the blood away. I need to feel something pure."
He didn't wait for her to move. He stripped her clothes away with a frantic, clumsy violence, his hands trembling as he touched her skin. He didn't go for her mouth or her thighs; he went straight for her breasts, his mouth seeking the only peace he knew.
He drank until he was breathless, his hands wandering over her body with a frantic, obsessive need to ensure she was still there, still whole, still *his*. He moved his mouth down her body, his tongue tracing the line of her stomach, his teeth nipping at the soft flesh of her inner thighs.
"You are my altar," he whispered against her skin, his breath hot and ragged. "I will kill for you. I will die for you. Just never look away from me."
He moved back up, pinning her arms above her head with one hand while the other worked to open her. He entered her with a forceful, desperate thrust that made the headboard slam against the wall. Jisoo cried out, her voice a mix of pain and a dark, twisted pleasure that she could no longer deny.
He fucked her with a primal, territorial rage, his eyes locked onto hers the entire time. He wanted to see the moment she broke. He wanted to see her soul shatter so he could be the one to pick up the pieces.
"Say you love the cage," he demanded, his pace becoming a blur of friction and sweat. "Say you don't want the sun. Say you only want me."
"I only want you!" she screamed, her body convulsing as the climax took her. "Only you, Taehyung!"
He followed her into the abyss, his body rigid as he poured his rage and his worship into her. He collapsed on top of her, his heart beating a frantic, uneven rhythm against hers.
As the dawn began to break over the horizon, casting a pale, sickly light into the room, Taehyung reached out and touched the gold anklet. He looked at the blood on his hands, then at the milk staining the sheets, and finally at the woman who was his everything.
"The world is quiet now, Jisoo," he whispered, his eyes finally closing. "I’ve killed the noise. Sleep now. I’ll be here when you wake up. I’ll always be here."
Jisoo closed her eyes, her fingers threading through his blood-matted hair. She was the Queen of a kingdom of shadows, the nurse to a god of death, and the only light in a world that had forgotten what the sun looked like. And as she drifted into a fitful sleep, she knew that the gold around her ankle was the only thing keeping her from floating away into the void.
The King was home. The King was fed. And for now, the world was safe from his wrath.
