Velvet desire
The Storm of the Stolen Lamb
The silence of the Kim estate had finally become a physical weight that Jisoo could no longer support. For three days, Taehyung had been locked in the underground war room, emerging only to feed from her with a frantic, silent desperation before disappearing back into the shadows of his empire. The gold anklet felt like a lead weight, and the diamonds in her ears felt like frozen drops of blood. She needed to feel the air—real air, not the filtered, sterile oxygen of the mansion.
She had found the key. Taehyung had left it on the nightstand in a moment of post-coital exhaustion, a rare lapse in his iron-clad paranoia. With trembling fingers, she had unlocked the shackle, the click sounding like a gunshot in the quiet room. She stripped off the silk and the lace, pulling on a simple white cotton frock she had hidden in the back of the closet—a relic from her life as a teacher. She left the jewelry behind, an altar of gold on the mahogany dresser, and slipped out through the servant’s entrance during the shift change.
Two hours later, the world was not the sanctuary she remembered.
The sky over Seoul had bruised into a violet-black, and the clouds broke with a violent, tropical intensity. Jisoo stood outside a small boutique, clutching a single paper bag containing a book she didn't really need. The rain was relentless, soaking through the thin cotton of her white dress in seconds. The fabric became a second skin, translucent and clinging, tracing the heavy, rounded curves of her breasts and the dark circles of her nipples, which were already aching from the cold and the missed hour of Taehyung’s feeding.
She was shivering, her breath coming in shallow hitches. The realization of what she had done was finally settling in. Taehyung would be looking for her. The God of Death would be tearing the city apart, and the thought of his face—the raw, unhinged madness that would be there—made her knees knock.
"Well, look at this little drowned rat," a thick, slurred voice rasped.
Jisoo froze. Two men stumbled out of the shadows of a nearby alley, the stench of cheap soju and stale cigarettes hitting her before they did. They were old, their faces mapped with broken veins and malice. Their eyes raked over her, widening as they took in the way the wet white fabric left nothing to the imagination.
"You lost, sweetheart?" the second one asked, stepping closer. He reached out, his yellowed fingernails grazing the wet sleeve of her dress. "A girl like you shouldn't be out in the rain. You look like you need someone to get you warm."
"Please, don't touch me," Jisoo whispered, backing away until her heels hit the brick wall of the store. "I’m waiting for my husband. He’s... he’s very close."
The first man laughed, a wet, hacking sound. "Husband? If I had a piece of cake like you, I wouldn't leave you out here to get soaked. I’d keep you locked up tight." He stepped into her personal space, his hand moving toward her waist. "That dress is practically invisible, darlin'. Why don't you show us what's underneath?"
"Stop it!" Jisoo cried, tears finally spilling over and mixing with the rain. She pushed at his chest, but he was a wall of drunken muscle. "Please, let me go!"
"I think she wants to play," the other one chuckled, reaching out to grab a handful of her hair.
Suddenly, the world went silent. The roar of the rain seemed to vanish, replaced by the low, rhythmic thrum of a high-performance engine. A black sedan, darker than the night itself, screeched to a halt at the curb, water spraying in a massive arc.
The door didn't just open; it was flung wide with a violence that bent the hinges.
Kim Taehyung stepped out into the deluge. He wasn't wearing a coat. His black shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, and his hair was plastered to his forehead, shielding eyes that were no longer human. They were the eyes of a predator that had found the thing that had dared to steal its kill.
The two drunks froze, the instinct of prey finally kicking in. "Hey, look, man, we were just—"
Taehyung didn't speak. He didn't waste breath on words. He moved like a blur of lethal shadow. His fist connected with the first man’s jaw with a sickening crack of bone. Before the second man could even raise his hands, Taehyung had him by the throat, lifting him off the ground with a strength fueled by pure, obsessive adrenaline.
"You touched her," Taehyung hissed, his voice a low, vibrating growl that cut through the thunder. "You looked at her. You saw what belongs only to me."
"Taehyung, stop!" Jisoo sobbed, reaching for his arm. "Please, let’s just go!"
He ignored her. His focus was singular, terrifying. He slammed the man’s head into the brick wall, once, twice, until the man slumped into the puddles, unconscious or dead. Taehyung turned to the first man, who was trying to crawl away, and kicked him in the ribs with a heavy boot. The sound of snapping bone was unmistakable.
Taehyung stood over them, his chest heaving, his hands trembling with the urge to finish them. The rain washed the blood from his knuckles, turning the puddles around his feet into a pale, swirling pink.
"Taehyung, look at me!" Jisoo screamed, grabbing his hand.
Finally, his head snapped toward her. The rage in his eyes didn't vanish, but it shifted. It became something sharper, something more suffocating. He looked at her drenched form, the way the white dress clung to her, exposing the body he had spent a fortune to hide from the sun.
"You left," he whispered, his voice trembling with a terrifying fragility. "You took off the gold. You walked out into the world and let these... these animals see you."
He stripped off his suit jacket and wrapped it around her, his movements frantic and rough. He pulled her against his chest, crushing her so hard she could barely breathe. "I thought you were gone. I thought someone had taken you. I was going to burn this city to the ground, Jisoo. I was going to kill every person I saw until I found your body."
"I just wanted to walk, Taehyung," she sobbed into his chest. "I just wanted to be a person for an hour."
"You aren't a person," he growled, lifting her off her feet and carrying her toward the car. "You are mine. You are my heart. You are my blood. You don't get to be 'a person' in a world that wants to devour you."
He threw her into the back seat and climbed in after her, slamming the door and locking it. The interior of the car was a sensory deprivation chamber—dark, quiet, and smelling of leather and Taehyung’s rage. He didn't tell the driver to go. He just sat there, staring at her, his hands gripping her thighs so hard his knuckles were white.
"Look at you," he rasped, his eyes fixated on her chest. The cold and the fear had caused her milk to leak, the white fluid mixing with the rain on the thin fabric of her dress. "You’re hurting. You’re leaking because you missed your time. Because you thought you could survive without me."
"I’m sorry," she whispered, shivering violently. "Taehyung, I’m so cold."
"I’ll fix it," he said, his voice dropping into that dark, honeyed register that signaled the end of his mercy. "I’ll make sure you never want to leave again."
He didn't wait until they reached the estate. He pulled her onto his lap, his hands tearing the wet cotton of her dress down to her waist. He didn't care about the driver. He didn't care about the world outside the tinted glass. He needed the grounding sensation of her nourishment to stop the static in his brain.
He latched onto her with a guttural groan, his mouth hot and demanding against her frozen skin. Jisoo let out a fractured cry, her hands weaving into his wet hair. The contrast was overwhelming—the icy rain on her back and the furnace of his mouth on her breast. He drank with a primal, desperate intensity, his throat working in steady, heavy gulps as he reclaimed what was his.
"Mine," he muttered against her skin, his hands wandering over her body, checking for any other marks, any other signs that the world had tried to touch her. "Every drop. Every inch. If I ever see you without that gold again, Jisoo, I will chain you to the bed. I will make sure you never see the light of day again."
"I know," she whispered, the warmth of the car and the intimacy of the act finally stopping her shivers. "I know you will."
He switched sides, his tongue marking the sensitive peak before he drew her back in. He was more aggressive than usual, his teeth grazing her, a silent punishment for her rebellion. He wanted her to feel the weight of his obsession, the sheer, terrifying scale of his need for her.
By the time they reached the estate, Taehyung had satisfied his immediate hunger, but his mood had only darkened. He carried her inside, ignoring the bowing servants, and went straight to the master suite. He didn't stop until they were in the center of the room, the gold anklet still lying on the dresser where she had left it.
He sat her on the edge of the bed and picked up the jewelry. He didn't say a word as he knelt before her, his fingers steady as he snapped the gold back around her ankle. He kissed the lock, then looked up at her, his eyes twin voids of devotion.
"You’re never going to find that key again," he said. "I’m going to have the lock welded shut tomorrow. This stays on until the day you die."
"Taehyung..."
"No," he hissed, standing up and stripping off his wet clothes. He looked like a god of old, beautiful and terrifying. "You proved today that the world doesn't deserve to see you. You proved that you can't be trusted with your own safety. From now on, your world is this room. Your world is me."
He pushed her back onto the silk sheets, his body a heavy, suffocating weight. He entered her without preamble, a forceful, possessive thrust that made her cry out his name. He moved with a relentless, punishing rhythm, his eyes locked onto hers, demanding that she acknowledge his ownership.
"Say it," he commanded, his breath hot against her ear. "Say you’re my prisoner. Say you’ll never leave me again."
"I’m your prisoner," Jisoo sobbed, her body arching to meet his. "I’ll never leave. I promise, Taehyung. I’m yours."
"Again."
"I am yours! Only yours!"
He hit his climax with a roar that shook the room, his body seizing as he poured his soul into her. He stayed there, buried deep, his heart beating a frantic rhythm against her own. The rain continued to lash against the windows, a reminder of the world she had tried to visit, but inside the room, there was only the suffocating, golden heat of his obsession.
Hours later, Taehyung sat up and pulled a small, silver tray toward the bed. He had ordered the finest delicacies, but he didn't give her a fork. He fed her with his own hands, his eyes never leaving her face.
"I’m going to have the boutique burned down," he said conversationally, as he fed her a piece of dark chocolate. "And the alleyway where those men found you. I’m going to erase every place your feet touched today."
Jisoo looked at him, the man who had destroyed her life and saved it in the same breath. She saw the gold on her ankle, the marks on her neck, and the terrifying love in his eyes. She realized then that she would never be "a person" again. She was a relic, a secret, a goddess in a cage.
"Are you happy now?" she asked softly.
Taehyung leaned in, his lips brushing against hers, the scent of her milk and his sweat a heady, intoxicating mix.
"I’ll be happy when the rest of the world is dead and it’s just us, Jisoo," he whispered. "Until then, I’ll just have to settle for keeping you all to myself."
He pulled her back into his arms, his hand cupping her breast as if he were already preparing for the next hour’s feed. As the silence of the estate settled back into its heavy, artificial rhythm, Jisoo closed her eyes. She was home. She was safe. And she was utterly, beautifully lost.
